Badgerstock: The meet up to end all meet ups. - The Bear and Badger

After a vague chat with Cosby this evening (after he generously provided me with a ticket to the excellent Book of Mormon), I've decided to try to organise a Badgerstock. Forget all of this regional nonsense, I'm aiming for the exact centre of Britain to give everyone an opportunity to get there (apologies to the Irish contingent, but I figure if you're all going to cross the channel for this, an extra hour or two's drive at the other end won't make a huge difference), which appears to be somewhere around Lancashire or Leicestershire depending on who you believe.

If we're all going to somewhere in the middle of Britain, there is an awful lot of pre-planning to do (including, quite possibly, hiring a venue) so I'm giving this a long lead time. I'm thinking early summer next year, around the time that people start getting time off, but before they go on holiday.

So, what do you all say?

Well if we're including the whole of the country it's Lancashire yes.

It's comfortably close enough to Preston for me to suggest hosting it.

If we're factoring everyone into the aggregate it should probably be somewhere in France.

I have a feeling that the centre of Britain will attract more people than somewhere in France.

Part of the reason for doing this so far in advance is so people can arrange whatever they need to arrange and come.

This is apparently the centre of Great Britain, not including the islands. If you include Northern Ireland, then it's here.

There might be somewhere arguably easier to get to than there though? Maybe we need to work out the location based on likely attendees. The lack of anyone who lives north of Aberdeen (or, realistically, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee) means the mid-point's probably going to be around Derby or south of there...?
