Child's Play 2013 - Total raised £1063.51!! Much love to you all! - The Bear and Badger

'Tis the season to be jolly. But it's also the season where we've come together over the last few years to make some amazing contributions to Child's Play charity. Hopefully there's enough interest again from the excellent members here to carry on the tradition this year, in which case I'm happy to organise.

Last year we donated to Sheffield Children's Hospital and I believe we did Alder Hey twice back on old places (correct me if I'm wrong here) so I suggest Royal Manchester Children's Hospital as the beneficiaries for 2013. You can see their Amazon wishlist here. Plenty of consoles and games as always so it'd be great if we can send some big stuff again.

We're kicking off a little late this year but going by Amazon's dates for guaranteed delivery by Christmas, I'll leave this open until Wednesday 18th December which gives us just over two weeks to push that totaliser.

They've got 3DS' and Wii U's on the wishlist so it would be cool to get either a console or a couple of handhelds maybe. Possibly games on top if we get enough then.

Just a thought, is it not possible to create a http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/giving/ page as I'm sure everyone who is employed can claim extra on top. I think the government add another 20 something percent? Or is that not possible?

Child's Play don't accept donations through them unfortunately. At this time of year they create a wishlist on Amazon for kids that spend a lot of time in hospital, so we just donate as much as we can from there with whatever we raise.

Yes. And if it's like me, the bank will try and block his card because of the size of the purchase. Just a thought Cosby, might be worth telling them in advance about it.

The handhelds seem to be the things to go for, but is we can get a Wii U out of it as well that would be good.
