I apologise (but not much) if it's not good form to ask for money from a forum I barely frequent any more, but hey ho, it's pay day and I have little to no shame.
You may or may not know/remember that, a couple of years ago, my friend Robbie and I played FIFA on the Xbox for 24 hours straight, in a bid to raise money for The Archie Foundation (http://www.archiefoundation.org.uk/ - a charity looking to improve the lives of children at Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital), with help from Police charity The Diced Cap. We used the money to buy them toys and games from their wish-list. We (or, rather, those who donated) did so well, we had to ask them to write a new, longer wish list.
On going to deliver the toys and games, though, it was humbling to learn that even our surprisingly large donation was just scratching the surface. I appreciate that this is just the second last pay-cheque before Christmas, and that you've probably got enough other things to be thinking about, but remember that, while we enjoy our Christmas Day with loved ones, too much food, and too many presents, there are kids at Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital whose Christmas will not be as much fun. If we can brighten their day, even just a little, it'll be worth it.
Robbie and I will be repeating the challenge from 5pm on Friday 7 to 5pm on Saturday 8 November.
Like I say, I appreciate that it's a bit cheeky asking for this when I've barely been here, and that most of you don't live in this area, but even if a couple of you could chuck a couple of pounds our way, it would be very gratefully received.
Skerret's posting is ok to trip balls to and read just to experience the ambience but don't expect any content. "I'm jealous of sucking major dick!"~ Kernowgaz
