amiibos and their ilk are evil in the "gotta catchemall" sense. I feel bad for parents and man children like reg and their bank accounts.
Parents especially if they've just come off the back of Disney infinity and sky landers.
In saying that, I fuckin want that woolly yoshi one...
Hi-res pictures of the amiibos from E3. Including Animal Crossing (cards and figures), woolen Yoshis, 8-bit Mario, Duck Hunter dog and duck, Mr. Game and Watch, Bowser Jr., Falco Lombardi, generic Miis, and the Skylanders x amiibo toys.
Particularly taken with the Duck Hunter one. Very odd decision to have the Miis not smiling - makes them look a bit, I dunno, zombified.

The idea is solid. It's the design of the toys I don't like. Disney Infinity and amiibos are generally quite high quality, they're worth collecting on their own (IMHO, YMMV). But Skylanders look like second rate Happy Meal toys.

I suppose Amiibo & Infinity have the advantage of being based on characters that have had a lot of effort put into them already. It's not just a bunch of guys trying to fill a roster if 120 figures before a deadline while bearing polygon counts, injection molding limitations, and painting costs in mind.
I think some of the newer skylanders are quite nice looking. My concern with the DK + Bowser is that when they launched Amiibo they looked much better than the real shop ones.
