Decided to have a crack at self-publishing my novel on Amazon. Worth a crack I guess. No idea what I'm doing as far as getting it noticed goes. Seems incredibly tough. Consensus seems to be that you really have to throw a few grand at advertising etc. That's just not possible for me. You can give it away for fee for set periods of time. So mine's free all this weekend. If anyone fancies grabbing it (and hopefully leaving a review) that would be ace. Here's the link.
I have had a shortish story accepted by McSweenys. It’s the first thing I’ve written in eons and the only place I thought to send it. I’m presuming they have a slack quarter ahead.
Can't imagine it will have a huge audience here, but I wrote a piece about Hunter x Hunter and why it's one of the smartest bits of shonen out there. Full of spoilers though.
Ended up reading most of the second forum story I wrote back in 2014, the one I never finished because of stuff. I liked a lot about it, which is weird because I'm my worst critic.
Always been tempted to go back and finish it for old time sake. Think I still have the original notes.
Those were fun times.
Still trying to tempt tempy to write something for the blog. . One day.
I got a script commission today from BBC Drama and I'm really delighted. It's been a barren year up until now so I feel a bit of weight has just lifted from my shoulders.
