DriveClub Time Trials - SEASON 2 WEEK 4 UNDERWAY! - The Bear and Badger

Yes, they're back! Weekly TT competition on DriveClub - the aim to be inclusive, so starting off with sensible vehicles that all or at least most should have, and certainly avoiding DLC stuff (incl. Bikes) for the time being.

I've just sent a Challenge for Week 1 - please let me know if you didn't receive this. Also - any objections to it, shout ASAP, and any recommendations for future car/course/weather combos much appreciated!

- Ferrari California (Unlocked at driver level 16, which we're all at apart from - and this brings me great sorrow - Elf, who has three more levels of ranking up to do first)

- Dry still, in the evening sunshine
- It's a round-and-round one, not P2P

Birdorf is obviously pro at this - so next week I'll be ignoring his wishlist and going for something somewhat speedier (with maybe some added 'fun' depending how evil I'm feeling. So the vid (now in the OP) has some opening times:

- My trial run: 1:44.701
- Birdorf's time for the same track: 1:41.675 - sadly ineligible for the comp, but shows what we might be able to head towards (or who knows, even beat)
- Digi's done a 1:46.124 before - cos he's a slowpoke

Get them times in, and remember:
- use the week long challenge if you can please
- bump me if you didn't receive it (or you may be able to somehow find it via me, as it's Open, which I may live to regret - hope we can get the full listing not just top 5 or anything)
- deadline is midnight next Saturday

Idgi. I guess I will once I check it out.

Restarting your lap before it finishes so it shows as about 2/3/4 attempts rather than having a bad lap and moving onto the next, which would be showing you as having 20/30 odd attempts.

Although restarting always gives you a good start to a lap.

Re: restarting, does number of attempts affect anything though? If I crash near the start of a lap, should I really still waste time on finishing lap rather than restarting? Gonna attempt it in a minute.

Yeah what DS said. If it's near the beginning I have much more sympathy. I think it was more people ring to underpay how hard they'd tried, so if they were approaching the fin josh and their ghost was ahead they'd restart, even if nothing major had happened. Up to you really though, it's more a request than an actual rule (and totally unenforceable an anyway!).

Lol. You've gone far too fast as well. Adkm doesn't like it when the challenge is too stiff,

It's one of those annoying circuits where the last corner sets up the entire lap and the fastest way through the first corner is just to,bounce off the wall.

Not worried about faster cars, just better handling cars. However, setting something like this is difficult as there will always be awkward twats like me who don't like your selection.

I found adkm's rant about Bob going too fast. I think this was because Bob was in the quick league, but he also ended up not coming last in the slow league. Given we're doing one big league here, I think i'm exempt.

Took me quite a few goes to beat Muzzy... Then I realised it was the wrong challenge. Fucker is too fast for me on proper one, although with a few dozen tries I should be able to beat it. Key seems to be the first two corners. He goes ahead of me on second corner and then never pulls away, so if I manage to stay ahead of him on second corner (I'm faster on first), then Bob's your uncle (not this Bob, some other Bob).
