Yes, it's my own game I'm busy working on. If you're not part of FNF and/or fancy joining some silly PC racing instead, then me and a couple of mates will be playing multiplayer from about 9pm, and it would be great if you would join in.
Here's a gameplay video someone did on youtube if you're interested:
Apologies to those already sick of me mentioning this in the 'games we made' and 'racing' threads
Cheers. I'm making the game myself, but didn't make the 3d models...car, houses, trees etc...but I shaped the landscape, the roads, positioned everything and put all the gameplay and handling together.
cheers for playing, sorry didn't see your message before but glad you got in.
were you stuck as in didn't know how to reset to track, or just picked that as a good time to leave?
Yeah, if you press the back button, or R (or press escape and select 'reset to track' on the menu). That takes you back to the last checkpoint you passed if you get stuck or lost.
Yeah, there's quite a few shortcuts...even discovered a new one tonight following some other player! You can get under 1:20 if you stick to the road...under 1:10 is possible if you can chain a few shortcuts, but there's a bit of risk in them all. The first one people tend to pick up is just at the end of that second clip above - go through the checkpoint and cut left before the wall...you can come a cropper on the trees/bumps but get it right and you can save a bit of time.
The way those cars appear to handle reminds me a bit of Stunt Race FX on the SNES. Splendid game that though it was a step too far for the hardware. Sinful that there was no update.
Hallo. Trying another multiplayer session on my racing game tonight at 9pm
Any pc/mac/linux gamers want to join in that would be great...a couple of other badgers have already said they should be there!
As an aside, if any of you lot have a mac and would be prepared to test the game at any time and let me know how it goes, that would be great. I've built a mac version but have no way of testing it!
Linux version works and so does the cross platform net code with that so hopefully Mac will work and could even join the pc lot in game! Http://ssgg.uk/foreveracers
Ran nicely at 1080 on my late 2015 i5, R9 M380. Mostly 60FPS apart from that field at the start, where it dipped into the 20s. I'll try it on an Air when I find time.
Didn't work with the 360 pad though and I found it a bit of a struggle with the keyboard, I kept tipping over.
It's also really hard to see where you're going at night, but I guess that is on the list?
Odd that it dropped so much on the field, not noticed that on mine. Did the pad not work at all, or just the triggers? Cos the triggers are an issue in Linux but i added support for the shoulder buttons as an alternative until I fix that...was hoping /expecting the same on Mac.
It's meant to be hard to see at night, but not that hard...wonder if brightness /gamma settings could be the issue...unless your headlights just didn't work in which case something else is going on!
Thanks again for trying it though.
