A nice IF Dybala would do the trick. Need to get on that pirlo one, woof woof.
The Xmas pirlo card challenge, on the app it describes the objective as if it's lobbed through balls in any mode, but in game it says Online Single Matches. Who do I believe?!
Gav, given the strengths at the CB and CM position, I decided to sacrifice the mostly average full backs. That said, I do play the majority of my games offline now.
As for the challenge, I believe it's online single matches despite the description. That's where I did mine.
Is it a good FIFA though? I briefly played last years and wasn't immediately grabbed although I only played a couple of games, penalties had become awful since I last tried them.
I like it. You can play it as simply or add complexities to your game with tactical customisations. My only real complaint is that free kicks are way too random to master. Penalties are fine once you know how to take them.
Not sure what mode you'll be playing though. Also offline or online?
Online most likely, I used to mostly play against my brother though I did try FUT for a version but found it too much of a time sink then. I did a La Liga only team with the caveat of no Barca/Real and a max of 3 from one team.
The more I play PES 2017 the more I think it's just broken.
Just played the same game 3 times in Become a Legend mode - a last 16 Champs League 2nd leg after losing the first leg 1-0. I'm playing for Man U against Besiktas. Every time it finished 0-0. Players missed about 10 chances from six yards or so, gave the ball away constantly, and even in the last 10 mins of each game there were no extra players committed forward.
So I reloaded again and chose 'skip match'. We won 3-1.
It's not just 'cheating' AI either. Overall I think it's been overcomplicated to the point it doesn't function properly. It's always second-guessing where you want passes and through balls to go and often getting it wrong. A lot of runs your team mates make are nonsensical. And players pump the ball up from defence or take 30 yard shots even though it's almost guaranteed never to work.
So we won the league. Fortunately opponents are just as bad at scoring as my own team. Conceded 9 all season. I'm done with it now.
To be fair, it is still very good when it works, but there are a lot of little things that need fixing or improving, and some have been there for years. It's an impressively complex game in some respects, but then doesn't do some of the basics right.
Firstly, go to staff, then remove help. There's a section for backroom advice and turn contextual advice off (if available on Touch version). Maybe keep it on cos you're an FM virgin.
Then sort out ya backroom staff. If, like most clubs on FM, your coaches/scouts/medics are all wank, fire them and get proper ones in via staff search.
Then, manually assign scouting to yourself. Send all scouts to particular regions, and to search for players with a max age of 21. This will reveal ALL DA YOOT as you should know who is fairly decent.
Abuse the loan market because you're a diddy club in a diddy league. Keep the tactic simple to begin with, build it to your strengths (aka don't have a 37yo with no physicals to run with ball often, don't have a CB with a 5 first touch to play out from the back). 442 is solid in this version, as is 4231, 523, basically any variant of a three man defence (get your juve wank on)
Tutor young prospects with established stars. Assign every single player to train in their preferred positional role. Set your manager to high motivating/discipline/man management/paedo working with kids stat.
Set training to double match tactics. If using one tactic put it in all three slots so your team will learn it quicker.
Prepare for a tough first season, remember to praise players when they're doing well, don't be afraid to warn or fine them if a performance gets a rating of below 6.0.
Sign Lautaro Martinez and/or Arthur (lol good luck with Rangers)
Kieran Tierney will rip you a new arsehole too, he's a top end PL player in game and as such will resemble Messi against you.
Oh and Mezzala role is OP but there ain't many natural Mezzalas in the game. Same as Complete Forward. Full backs will make or break a tactic so set them up right. DM as a Deep Lying Playmaker is basically hello pirlo baby.
Play lots of friendlies against really shit teams to get morale up quick. If a player kicks off say they're an influential member of the dressing room, works most of the time.
Play this tactic to win the CL in three seasons with a 40yo one legged Kenny Miller up top:
