Friends who have Red Dead II on PC: can you tell me what extra bits are in the single player? I heard that there was extra bounties, and I'm wondering if there are some extra New Austin missions? They just added the PC stuff to the PS4 but not the XBox One grrrr.

I'm late to the party with this. Got it in the PSN January sale and am now hopelessly addicted to the online aspect and visiting this beautiful world each day.
The gameplay's as ropey as arse, but when you can flavour moonshine with tinned peaches I'm being spoken to at a subliminal level.
So even though I have been playing Red Dead II for nearly 18 months straight, I managed to find TWO new encounters last night: a hunter looking for his lost friend in the snowy mountains and a pair of frozen explorers with a beautiful map. This game is just ridiculously good.

Played a bit of this today. Set up my moonshining business, although I haven't actually brewed anything yet. Dunno if they've changed things but I had a couple of nights where I couldn't see a bat, the mist was cloying. Maybe it's because I've not spent much time in Tall Trees before now, but it was a nervous experience with the bears and wolves prowling the woods and spooking my horse.
Not very much. It looks really, really good though. I am going to subscribe to the online deal next week though and I'm going to try to really get into it! Just have to finish the story for a 13th time first

I'd like to hear what you make of it, because I bounced off it at first, it's very bare bones in comparison to how rich the single player world is. But since they've added the roles there's plenty to get your teeth into. The competitive stuff is the worst kind of AIDS though, avoid all of that crap no matter how fun the description sounds. Except for the fishing tournaments of course, they're ace.
It's definitely my favourite game of all time. It really is like meditation for me. Just venturing out, hunting, finding secrets, cooking and crafting, and then you throw in the story and it gets even better!
Yes, I heard that it wasn't great to start with but it is now getting on its feet. I am definitely interested to play it properly!
