"I spent years thinking Yorke was legit Downs-ish disabled and could only achieve lucidity through song" - Mr B
Would like to play (Steam says I played the original for 106 hrs) but Denuvo (I won't buy a game with that out of principle) and IDTech 5 engine (see current performance issues to confirm people's fears when they announced that) means I won't be partaking.
Good job the first one is still worth replaying again.
We really need a piracy thread. Why so anti-denuvo? Hadn't even heard of it till now, b7t is your stance that you should be able to play your game more flexibly than it allows, even if the cost is they get pirated more? How restrictive is it??
Did The Royal Conservatory last night. Not as memorable as Clockwork Mansion (unless you've not played Brigmore Witches) but
Spoiler:
the strange positions some of the witches are found in make for a real good mix-up from the pedestrian Grand Guard. A pair of them up high on a chandelier having a tea party, some teleporting between floors and rooms on their patrol routes or some kicking back reading a book, legs kicking off the corner of a tall book shelf. You have to keep your eyes peeled on the very vantage spots you'd pick yourself in order to spot some of them.
Finished the clock work mansion and I'm about 8 hours in. Got the bulk of the collectibles and rescued the old boy. Got a bit bored of the clock work thing and gave up trying to find the alternative method and just killed matey.
I like to think I'm a CAN DO kind of guy... And the number of cans I can normally do is 12.
Linked two guards via Domino in an attempt to knock them bout out via one outrageous drop stun. Ended up breaking a lantern as I landed and setting the first guard on fire so they both burned to death. Whoops.
Edit: Addermire took me 2 hours over a few nights (lots of quick saving) and I ghosted it, but murdered 4 poor sods. Two via above domino shenanigans, one via bloodfly, one via domino knockout which sent him lurching off a cliff.
I've made it as far as the consevatory and I'm starting to relax into it. It's all about the exploration and not really just about getting from a to b. The later levels are opening up nicely.
Worried about spending my runes wrongly after wasting some on the the door busting one.. it seems to do some kind of perma save on rune spending cos even after I decided I didn't need it and reloaded I still had it.

I was trying to find a place to locate the collector edition box and realised that under the bed would be a GREAT idea. The only problem was the gap to get under was smaller than the space available. So I decided to lift the mattress up. Now I had to use the side adjacent the wall as i needed access on the open side for bags etc.
Anyway I lifted the mattress and the wooden slats underneath and placed the box after a little jimmying. Unfortunately more slats than required came loose and I needed to shuffle the heavy mattress across the room so I had space to re lay the slats.
I managed to get trapped by mattress as a result of this palaver and caused a lot of noise. I thought this was a little ironic.
Thanks for the spoiler warning Bob - I love finding all the thousands of little details myself so will avoid the thread for the most part until I'm done with my first run.
I'm in the bit with the dust storms. I'm supposed to bring one leader to the other and then the other faction are supposed to not kill me? I've gotten the body but they keep attacking me.. Although I seem to have triggered another part of the quest, something to do with investigating the lock? Is it a bug or what? should I just ditch the body and stealth it up?
