Nex Machina - Housemarque shooty goodness (PC/PS4 - 20 June)

Trying to comelket it on Veteran. Got to boss 3 on 1 credit. Problem is that once I started losing a life or two, it became too hard and silly. Boss fire trails were still on ground when I used a continue and level restarted??? That is harsh. And trying to get a decent second weapon or recovering lost power up on boss level while trying to survive or kill enemies is hard.
Trick is not to die I guess.

Been playing World 3 over and over for a while on Arena mode. Eventually managed a good run, but just lost the human combo towards the end.
Just under 38 million score though, which is 11th at the moment. -
Uploaded my Veteran run. I think I'm done for now. I managed to maintain a combo for the whole game in a previous run but I collected more humans in this one so it ended up higher.

Are you killing a lot of stuff with dash explosion? I need to get the hang of that technique of dashing into things and away again. -
Yeah I use the dash explosion a lot to kill the big guys, turrets etc while spraying the little ones.

Keep losing sound when playing this now. Music stays, but everything else cuts out, which makes it harder to play. It just did it at the beginning of World 5 ffs.
I did get to 6-15 on a 1 credit run yesterday. But again I really struggle to see what's going on in that boss fight, and as soon as I lose 1 life I lose them all. A couple of seconds of invincibility on a new life, just to get your bearings, would make all the difference. -
I get sound loss quite a bit. Speaker on controller still works and lady tells me what's what.
I beat last boss first time when I got to it on second time. First time, I spent more than 10 continues to beat it! I found concentrating on my character rather than boss helped a lot. Save dash for when gets hectic then dash away from danger. Dunno why the third phase on some of the. Issues is the easiest. Stand in place, hold fire, and move a little left and right here and there. I'm using headphones, so don't have the controller speaker. It's quite a loss in this game.

Yas! 1CC on Experienced. Scored over 400 million.
Lost a couple of lives on the last boss, but had a full set at that point and managed to keep focus.
Didn't beat the thing at the end, but I guess that doesn't matter. The trophy came up anyway.

I try and get as much as possible on world 1-3 then just survive the rest. But if you've built up a good multiplier early on it keeps going.
Edit: A really good score is over 1 billion though - not happening. -

Managed to keep the human combo going until 2-10 this time, which surprised me.
Think I find world 2 more tricky than 3 overall. Mainly because of those things that burrow underground and those spinny things that split if you don't take them out with a power weapon. -
Put this on for the first time in while and tried Veteran. Managed to get to 4-8 once I got a decent run going.
I'm done with it overall, though. Reached a point where putting in significant time only reaps minor improvements and it's not worth it. Same thing happened with Resogun once I'd done the 1CC.
Great game, and I prefer it to Resogun, but I can only go so far. -

I'm gonna go for completing Veteran. Then first level on Master. Then feats for platinum.

There are 10 continues on Veteran, so I could have carried on I suppose. Just thought I'd see how I'd get on 1 credit.
Maybe I should look at the trophies and see if it seems worthwhile. -
Hmm... only 7 trophies left, but a couple would take some time. Don't think I've got it in me.

Well, yeah, that's a different level. It's great to see, and great that the game caters for it.
But I know my limits.
TBH I was happy that the 1CC on Experienced was pitched about right for my abilities. -
On a Housemarque spree so I’m playing this now, while also doing Alienation co-op with Shabby (more players welcome, of course).
I fucking love Housemarque, that is all.

I never did complete it on Veteran I think. And the feats will take a lot of grinding for platinum trophy so meh. Forget that.I am a FREE. I am not MAN. A NUMBER.
