Surprised no one has shown any interest in this. Was on my radar ever since I saw the gorgeous art direction pop up on the store a few months ago. Apparently been in development since the dawn of civilisation but I hadn't heard of it until recently.

40 Space credits for the starter / founder edition but so far it's been well worth the money. The level of polish and refinement from it's prolonged development really shows. Gunplay is solid and the building once you learn it's nuances is really intuitive and fun. I've managed to build some crazy ass forts. Then there is the loot and levelling. There is huge depth there from builds to skill trees, gun types, heroes and followers. It is an amalgamation of genre games ranging from Diablo to Minecraft, Overwatch and The Division and everything in between.

Takes quite a while to learn all the systems - still haven't quite managed to commit everything to memory but I think the game has huge potential for co-op shenanigans. Some videos to give you an idea of things:

Looks cracking for co-op, but I wasn't sure about SP and with it going F2P next year I didn't go all in for the preorder.

Aye, Amazon preorder is listed at £49.99, which is crazy steep for a game that'll be free in a few months' time :-/

Know a few people who are playing and loving it, but yeah, the fact that it will eventually be free also puts me right off.

I honestly think it's worth the money, compared to what else is available now. But I guess it depends on your tastes. Games like this appeal to me greatly. As opposed to just single player games, of which I don't really get on with any more.

I blame Steam for all this but in reality the game is finished. You're just paying to be a founder and get extra rewards for 'backing' the game. A system I wouldn't normally champion but I am bored to fucking tears and needed something to play that would be up my street. I can confirm the level of polish is very high as the game stands currently. With animations, sound and gun play / building all felling really solid.

I've been playing it over the weekend, and its really enjoyable. The building is solid once you get your head around it. The resource grind and loot hunting is satisfying, and the shooting is very tight, even online.

Sure, there are issues that need addressing, and the menus are a right mess, but the developers seem to be on-top of it (going off their recent Reddit AMA).

It certainly doesn't look, feel or play like an 'Early Access' game. £30 well spent imo.

I'm interested in the game but the looming FTP thing gives me the fear. Have they fully explained the FTP structure? I presume it's not just cosmetic stuff you'll have to pay for, and I wonder if jumping in now won't actually end up cheaper than buying everything you need/want separately later on.

Confusing as fuck these new payment structures, and I don't trust them one bit to be honest. In my eyes there's only one reason they'd want to change it up and that's to squeeze extra cash out of us. Hope I'm wrong of course.

Yeah, it's a bit of a confusing thing, especially as there's already about 4 tiers of whatnot that you can buy right now.
But fuck it, I need a new game and zombiescavengingcraftinglootbuilding is right up my alley so I'm in for £33 for the lowest tier PS4 version.

I've just been googling the pricing and found out about the tiers. If you buy the standard version now I think you'll still end up having to fork out for the good shit later, which might not be ideal.

Nothing is known about how the FTP works at the minute though. Odd.

Yeah, there's all loot packs and shit but I don't care about that - I'm a dullard and am happy to grind to get loot rather than pay for it.
