Don’t think so. Even when just putting there are variables at play beyond just how good you are at hitting the accuracy markers. I’m guessing that’s the RPG element.
Think I'm almost done with this now, have just arrived in the last area.
Enjoyed most of it so far, it's a bit too long imo, story has great moments but it all feels a bit disconnected. Also wished they had an online leaderboard to compare scorecards, and an option to do single holes. Wouldn't mind trying to get some better scores, but the way the game is now it just feels a bit pointless.
Golf controls feel good, and once you have more clubs it gets more interesting, focus etc seem to be a good thing too once you figured them out.
Controls of the main guy aren't great, running feels never smooth.
I think I've seen quite a bit, gave up on
Spoiler:
the race with the radio controlled car
in the snowy area (forgot the name) and haven't gone back to
Spoiler:
the guy that makes alternative courses
in Oak Manor as I can't be bothered. Might be a reward in it if you continue that, I'm not sure. Hopefully I've finished the main story the next time I'll give this a go.
And a strange thing with the Tidy Park Tournament :
Spoiler:
Pretty sure I was second place, Max got -4 and I had -3, but I still won? Quick look at Google suggests I'm not the only one. Found that a strange one, not sure if it's a bug or not
There are quite a few bugs I noticed Nina. None that totally ruined it but some annoying things. I had a fair few times where I'd land on the edge between two ground types and it would splash and say I landed in water! That was annoying.
Otherwise the only other thing that grated me a bit was it not failing you straight away if you didn't have enough shots to complete a challenge. Or sometimes not instant winning when you hit the challenge goal.
Oh and the fact that the 'stressful' putting music keeps playing after you sink the putt and while it loads the next hole.
Edge gave this a [5], raised an eyebrow after all the praise on here. Luckily, I'm not beholden to dose guys anymore, so I'll buy it at some point anyway.
Haven't read the review, is it the one with Mario Odyssey review? I can kinda see where they could come from. There's a lot "wrong" with this game, but there's so much charm to it as well. I'm still undecided, am currently attempting my (I guess) last tournament and failing.
New issue arrived at work - the one after Odyssey - I assumed someone would've posted scores already. I can do the lot if you want? Can be like a secret (proper) Golf Club treat.
Urgh, still not finished this, the last tournament is pretty frustrating.
I tried to change my stats but looks like you can only reduce power and not the other options? Not sure if I lowered my chance of winning even more now. I reduced power and put some more points into the first option, that was a bit behind the others...
Leave and enter an area buildings, courses, whatever before getting off then save and quit its what I've been doing and I haven't lost progress since but the first time I played I had the same issue with saving
Apparently the game doesn't save when you select save and quit, it goes from the last autosave (prompted by entering or exiting an area).
