I bout a ticket to go and see Aberdeen v Hibs at 12.30, but on waking up, the cold that’s been gradually arriving the last few days has decided to step up its game. I presume it took advantage of the meds wearing out while I was sleeping.
Watching Love, Actually and The Polar Express at some point today are a given (and if you’re reacting in a negative way to those films, I pity your soulless existence) but any games played are going to have to be non-reliant on reaction times and coordination, so probably those with less direct control methods.
I wanted to play Uncharted: The Lost Legacy or Until Dawn this weekend, but I think I’d struggle. Likewise Horizon: Zero Dawn and Agents of Mayhem are off the table. Even the fucking weird Wheels of Aurelia would be asking too much.
I could give Oxenfree another chance. Or try to get over/through the brick wall I’ve hit in Gorogoa. Most puzzle games have unnecessary countdown timers that prohibit stress-free play.
What do you like to play when you’re all out of sorts, and there's an itch somewhere inside your shoulder that you can’t reach?
Anyway my 'being ill' game is some form of Civ. No significant energy needed, can dip in and out as needed (handy if you keep passing out) and the one-more-go aspect makes time pass quickly.
Linking to an article as wrong as you are doesn’t make either of you any more right. That writer has a particularly poor reading of the film. (Edit: It’s wilfully poor, actually.)
Always liked football manager as a flu game. You can drop in and out as the need for snoozing dictates. Basically anything that doesn't demand reactions would work for me. Adventure games also work well.
I saw The Polar Express for the first time last week and I thought it was a bit shit. Love Actually has Martine in it, so it gets a pass. Haters gonna hate, but McCutcheon is laminated all-time top ten material.
I’ve ended up finishing watching White Christmas (I started it in bed last night when I was heartburny and restless) followed by A Christmas Carol (Jim Carey version), Love, Actually and The Polar Express. I know the last one isn’t very popular, but I’m a sucker for schmaltz.
The one bit of gaming I did was taking a plane for a non-combat fly around Just Cause 3’s islands. I note that there’s no decent flight simulators on PS4. I should probably spend more time on my Sky Odyssey save so I’ve got some decent stuff available.
While browsing the store I was tempted (yet again) by Spintires: Mud Runners.
I'd go for something incredibly frustrating like The End is Nigh so you can divert all sorry-for-yourself power to being annoyed and forget you're ill.
