I played the bloody shit out of the first one and it was dreadfully ropey in parts but oddly compelling, and even spooky at times. I'll give it the ol' college try.

I played a bit of the original. It had a great atmosphere.i was balls deep watching Buffy/angel at that time(oooer poor choice of words). There was a brilliant scary bit in a house...I won't spoil it though
I suppose there was a time when watching those TV shows, vampirism was fashionable. And then there was Twilight that it made it fashionable for another gen. I think the original videogame predates all of that. When being into vamps was a bit weird. I can't see what particular vampirism zietgeist this new game is supposed to be riding on. And the 'Not gameplay footage' makes it look like Far Cry 3, but with vamps.
It wasn't until I hit my thirties that I realised you could unlock rewards by exploring the map
