Very much enjoyed it though.

Fisnished this last night.  It was fairly enjoyable.  Probably wouldn't have finished it if it wasn't Star Wars, though.  First couple of episodes were great,  then it nosedived before picking up again at the end.  With the exception of introducing Gina Carano in whatever episode she appeared, you could skip episodes 4,5 and 6 and not miss anything.

So enjoyable overall but hard to see what the fuss was all about.  It was good that it was its own thing, I suppose.

Which was 6? The prison?

What was that the jail?  Thought that was pretty poor, tbh.  The bit with the strobe light thing was good but The Simpsons did it better (winky face).  I found it a bit dull, in all honesty.

I suppose by that point I was really hoping they'd do something with the story but they kept doing other shit.  It was the most meaningless episode of the series.  Maybe the one before it.

Not everyone is going to love this, but not ashamed to admit it's given me the feels many times. Watching a 4K rip and it's gorgeous on top. Has to have a few technical Emmys in the bag together with that score. Fuck the sequels*, this is Star Wars.

It didn’t do a thing I wasn’t expecting. Nostalgia and cliche, predictable plotting and somehow having to write out all the heroes to explain their absence from A New Hope.

There was even pre-release talk and ‘leaks’ about how Vader does stuff in it you’ve never seen before and kicks ass. Ok great, might be alright I thought. And it was for all of the 15 seconds he was doing it. I was just completely underwhelmed by it. I couldn’t see the point, it seemed like the least interesting thing to make a story about.

I finally got around to watching Mando Season One and I agree with everything Hair said.

Loved it. It’s a short, fun, Saturday morning serial. Which is what Star Wars was always meant to be. It’s Lone Wolf and Cub remade in the Star Wars universe. It gently takes the piss out of the films, and even picks up some inspiration from Troops and other fan-made stuff.

It’s a Star Wars spaghetti western, wearing the samurai movie influences proudly on its beskar-armoured sleeve.

It nails the feel of the OG trilogy, without feeling desperately retro or overly nostalgic.

It even gave me a hint of Battle Beyond the Stars, which is a GOOD THING.

Best Star Wars thing since Rogue One.
