I mean, it's pretty much spot on as a modern sequel to SoR. It doesn't depart massively from the old games, but I think that's wise really.

The main thing I think is the scope for high score chasing and the online leaderboards. Someone will undoubtedly combo the whole thing on the highest difficulty within a few days. For most of us, there's a ton of replayability if you're into that sort of thing.

But it's also just a real blast to play. Control is sharp and quick. Music is great. It doesn't overcomplicate anything, but adds some depth here and there.

Arguably the best new feature is presumably inspired by Bloodborne. When you use a special that drains your health, you can get that back by doing further damage before you get hit. It's a great little risk/reward system.

And I haven't tried multiplayer yet. Looking forward to that.
