You are Frank, a detective living in Chicago. You have a pistol and a police badge. You enter the forest where you believe the criminal you're searching for fled to. Suddenly you hear footsteps.

> You stop, hide and listen to the footsteps.
You hide behind a tree and turn your attention towards the source of the footsteps. You spot a girl in a dark blue dress, completely disheveled. She looks directly at you with terrified eyes.
She's...unsettling. You begin to feel unnaturally aroused. The girl, who only moments ago was hiding, begins to unbutton her dress.

You are Wizzardo, a wizard living in the kingdom of Larion. You have a staff and a spellbook. You finish your long journey and finally arrive at the ruin you've been looking for. You have come here searching for a mystical spellbook of great power called the book of essence. You look around and see nothing but ruins. It's probably some sort of magic school of old, perhaps even where you dwell. You have no idea. The ruins are large and you have spent hours exploring, but still have yet to find anything.

> You cast a spell of finding.
The air seems to have a faint blue glow about it. You focus on the feeling and attempt to find the book of essence with your new spell, though you get very little results.

> You put all your will into the spell.
Suddenly, you feel a force hit your mind. It's like trying to read someone's mind, except you're not quite sure how it is you're doing it. You just know you are.

> You use the force to search for the book. It must be nearby!
You concentrate on the book of essence and a feeling of rightness comes over you. Your surroundings seem to blur slightly and suddenly, a portal opens up in front of you.

> You step into the portal.
You begin to enter the portal, and then something slams into your mind! You are knocked back into the real world, and the portal closes.

> You look around.
All that's left is the ruins of what appears to have been some sort of magical school. You can see the crater where your staff was sitting, and you can see the faint blue glow coming from deep within it.

> You inspect the crater.
It is empty, save for some pieces of wood and bone that were once your staff.
Wizard or not, you're done adventuring for now.

> You go to a nearby hawthorn tree and cut yourself a new staff.
You collect several pieces of wood from nearby trees and begin crafting a new staff. After about a day of hard work, you finish your work. As you hold it in your hands, it feels different than before.

> You cast the spell of finding again.
You concentrate and try to search for the book of essence with your new spell, but once again, no luck.

> You summon an army of mice to help you in your search.
As quickly as you can, you begin building a mouse-filled chamber in the middle of your ruined home.

> You cast a spell of mice-summoning.
Soon, dozens of tiny rodents are inside your chamber, each squeaking in excitement.

Wizard, I'm so proud of you! Can you now explore other things?
Maybe...

> You speak to the rodents, command them to look for the book of essence.
You take out your spellbook and begin looking up the incantation for the spell you'd like to try. Suddenly, one of the smaller rodents speaks up. "Hey human, we don't do rodent work."

> You say "Well then little one, what do you do?"
"We eat seeds and chase each other around and that's it!"
Hmm... That sounds like pretty simple work to me...

> You say "If you guys could help me find the book of essence I will reward you with all the seeds you could ever dream of"
"Well... I suppose that's simple enough..." The rat says, somewhat puzzled. "Just one question human: what will we actually be doing?

> You say "I would like you to all to spread out and search these ruins for the book, leave no stone unturned or chamber unvisited. It has to be here somewhere!"
"Okay human! That sounds like fun!" The rat exclaims, now a little excited.
"I'll go over here first since I know this place best."

> You watch as the army of rats spread out and explore the ruins for you.
The rats scurry about and quickly accomplish your mission, gathering up scraps of parchment, books, scrolls, furniture and other odds and ends as they go along.

> You say "Yes yes these are all wonderful things you have found for me, but does anyone have the book of essence?"
One of the rats suddenly walks up to you and squeaks something out which you didn't quite catch. When you repeat the question in a slightly louder tone the rat replies with "They don't know".

> You say "Ok well if you could pile up everything you have found right here I will look through them and see if the book is amongst them."
The rat nods his head, then turns around and squeaks "over here" at which point another rat comes up to you and whispers something in your ear.
You repeat "the book of essence?" in order to give out a signal to which rat to give the answer to. The second rat nods his head and squeaks "Yes", at which point you turn around and squeaks "WHAT?!"

> You pick up the book of essence.
As soon as you pick up the book of essence something begins to happen... It appears that the pages are turning by themselves as you examine them.

> You absorb all the learning and power from the book of essence.
As soon as you do this, everything begins to get hazy for a moment, and then everything clears up again.

> You command your body to start levitating, using the incredible power that is now within you.
Your body now reacts accordingly; it begins to levitate off the ground! Though, it isn't very high, but it's a good start!

> You float higher still, up above the clouds.
You continue to concentrate on your new ability to fly, as you float through the sky. You flap your wings a bit to stay airborne, as you turn yourself around and sail back down to your home with ease!

> You land at your home. Then you concentrate your power to begin pulling stones and other materials from the surrounding environment to build a grand castle.
After creating a solid base for your castle (And having your rats gather tons of resources for you) you begin adding rooms and corridors as well as various other features.

> You float around the castle building it as you go with the force of your will. Eventually it is complete.
It has taken you far longer than expected, but your creation is complete. This was truly your magnum opus; no-one had ever built a castle quite like this before! You had created something special.

> You sit at your throne.
Now that your castle was finished, you decided to sit back and enjoy your newfound riches and position for a while, occasionally employing some of your servants to perform minor tasks.

> You ask the rats to visit the surrounding kingdoms, to see if someone might have need of a powerful wizard.
A year passes...
Still no word from any potential buyers or summoners.

> You fly out from your castle at great speed, passing over near then distant kingdoms in search of intrigue.
You reach Delerg first, where you let your magic prowess be known by toppling several rockslides and creating large waves in small bodies of water. Still waters, as they say...

> You say "Hail fine citizens of Delerg! I am Wizzardo, greatest of all the magicians of this world! Are there any amongst you that would seek my assistance?"
Most of the town seems to be at either the football match or hanging out at the bar. A few try to hail you down, but most just ignore you.

You are Tinker Tailorson, a spy living in Chicago. You have a concealed pistol and a syringe of poison. You listen to the Russian diplomats and hear them discussing their plans to march into New York. Knowing it is the only place you can get the information you need, you act immediately. You inject one of the diplomats with the poison and flee.

> You run into the alleyway.
You dart into the alley and begin running towards a horse tied to a nearby lamp-post. Just as you reach it, you hear shouting from behind.
"Get that man! He's a spy!"

> You leap onto the horse and shout 'tally-ho!"
You leap onto the horse and, raising your pistol, shout "Tally-ho!" towards the advancing soldiers. One of the soldiers raises his rifle and shoots at you but the bullet passes right through your body.

> You run the soldier down with the horse.
You ride the horse past the advancing soldiers and, turning it, charge them with deadly accuracy. You run them down and ride away, victorious.
Your feat is celebrated by the crowds.

> You shout out into the street "WHO LIVES HERE!?"
A voice crackles through your radio, "Here's who you're looking for: Steve Niles, age 31."

> You look at the crowd and order Steve Niles to step forward.
Steve Niles steps forward, he has seen what you are wearing and knows that you are a cop. He raises his hands slowly.
"Where were you last night?" you ask.
"I was at home."

> You shout "AT HOME DOING ILLEGAL DRUGS! I've got you bang to rights creep. You're going away for a long time."
Steve Niles doesn't react, he simply looks at you with a blank expression until you notice a tear running down his cheek.

> You ignore his tears and call into your radio "This is Officer McStrife, I've got a suspect drug dealer down here. Send a car over to take him back to the station for processing."
A police car pulls up and Steve Niles is taken away. You then head home yourself, since it's nearly dinner time.

> You on the way home you stop at the corner shop to buy some cheap liquor.
You buy a bottle of vodka, some red wine and a box of chocolates for your wife.

> You "God I hate my wife" you mutter to yourself as you pay for the chocolates.
You walk home and open the chocolates, they are terrible, probably from that big name brand you've never heard of.
You eat them anyway and drink straight from the bottle of vodka until you feel dizzy.

> You stagger through the front door to your crummy flat on the lower east side, and drunkenly blare out "Where's dinner?"
Your wife yells back "On the stove!" as you fall into your chair and fall asleep watching stupid game shows.

> You wake up, groggy, it's almost dawn, you go for a piss.
You stand in front of the bathroom mirror and realize your face looks wild and your eyes are bloodshot, you look like death warmed over. After taking another piss you go back into the bedroom and pass out again.

You are Gurt, a punk living in the the futuristic city of Zail. You have a bag of drugs and a holoband. You wake up in a dark alley with bruises all over your body. You have no idea what happened. You stand up and see a figure run away.
Suddenly, you're hit by a train.
You wake up in the hospital with no memory of who you are or how you got there.

> You say "Shit! OW everything hurts! Where am I?"
You ask the nurse who walks into your room. She looks at you with some sympathy.

> You say "What happened?"
The nurse explains that you were hit by a train, but that you were luckily not killed. You just have a broken leg and some minor head wounds.

> You say "Fuck, that's a real bummer, man. Can you pass me my coat? I want to take some drugs I had in there"
The nurse hands you a pill and you put it in your mouth. It dissolves quickly.
You think for a moment.
What to do, what to do...

> You take small handful of the drugs from the bag in your coat.
You feel a strange effect.
What to do, what to do...

Suddenly, you have an idea.
You decide to do the drug combination that was in your mouth when you woke up.

> You combine the drugs and swallow them together.
You swallow the drugs and it takes some time for them to kick in.
You feel a rush of energy running through your body. You flex your muscles, you are now super-human!

> You get up and start leaping around, yelling.
You start leaping around, yelling like a superhero. You laugh and laugh.
The nurse who had tried to help you earlier walks in and asks what the hell is so funny.
You have no idea.

> You thank the nurse and run down the hospital corridor.
You run down the hospital corridor, jumping over obstacles. You eventually arrive at the emergency exit door.
It takes a few tries, but you manage to open the door and step outside into the alleyway.

> You sprint through the city.
You sprint through the alleyway, laughing and dodging people. The world starts to get colorful and artsy.
A woman passes by with a huge painting.

> You say "Woah! That is so trippy, man! Did you paint that? Hahahaha!"
The woman seems pretty annoyed by your conversation.
She continues walking.
You keep running, jumping and dodging people. Eventually, you find the police officer who hit you.

> You say "Hey pig! Why did you hit me last night? I'm was just trying to have bit of fun!"
The police officer angrily stares at you and says you are under arrest for causing a scene. You continue running, but you are now surrounded by police cars.
You put your hands up and surrender.

> You quickly reach into your pocket and grab another handful of those amazing drugs, you swallow them.
You manage to get the drugs into your mouth as the police car doors open. You are forced out of the car and into the police office.
You laugh as they place handcuffs on you.

> You say "Quit harshing my vibe dudes! This is seriously uncool, can I have my coat please?"
The police officer who had hit you walks in, and gives you a bro-fist to the face. You fall to the ground, laughing.
They take you to the police station and throw you into a cell.

> You say "Shiiit. Fuck you pigs! You guys suck! I know my rights! Give me my coat back!"
You get up and stand against the cold wall of the police cell, trying not to show your desperation.
You manage to get up and crawl over to your bag. You rummage through it and find your drugs.

> You say "Aww yiss!"
You take out the drugs and consume them. They kick in immediately, and you feel a warm, blissful sensation spread through your body.
You do not know how long this lasts.

> You say "WOOOOO! What a rush! HAHAHAHA"
The cops who had hit you return to the cell and begin arguing loudly.
You laugh to yourself as you think of how awesome those drugs were.
Suddenly, the doors open.
You see two people walk in.

> You say "Hey it's a couple of goblins! How's it going my dudes? HAHAHA"
The two goblins stare at you blankly. One says "Monkeys". The other says "Pigs".

> You say "Monkeypigs? Wassat? Hey do you two have a sandwich or something I could eat...?"
They walk over to you and pull out blades.
You scream as one cuts your throat and the other burns you to death.

> You say "AAAAHHH!! Help!"
Your last scream is lost in the sound of a police siren.

You are Dick , a detective living in Chicago. You have a pistol and a police badge. You enter the forest where you believe the criminal you're searching for fled to. Suddenly, you hear a noise.
A young woman is standing in front of you. She looks around and then...
"Heeeeeeey, I'm Violet. What's your name?" she asks cheerfully.

> You say "Hi I'm dick"
"Hi I'm Violet."
"Do you like horror movies?" she asks.
"Sure."
"Me too! Do you want to see one?"
"Uh... I don't have my movie ticket."

> You say "we could buy one, I'll take the day off"
"Oh, you're working today?"
"Yeah."
"I could go with you then!" she says.
"Great." You reply.

> You go to cinema and buy ticket.
You and Violet buy a ticket to the cinema. On your way, you start to think about your relationship with her.

> You ask violet to marry you.
"Hey Violet, will you marry me?"
Violet looks at you and blushes. She says yes of course! The two of you kiss and hold each other for the first time.

> You get married and live happily ever after.
Violet and you get married. You both live happily ever after.

> You wake up.
You wake up and groggily look around your room, it's nearly dawn again. You head to the kitchen and notice a note on the table.
Don't wait up, I'm going out late.

> You make a mental note to shake down her "friend" Neville, that she's probably gone to see. Fucking shoulder to cry on asshole. you switch on the news.
The news is on the war that's going on between the government and some religious group calling themselves the Church of Truth. They are a fanatical religious group who believe that the government has become too soft and corrupt.

> You "Whole world's gone to shit" you complain as you grab your badge and gun and head for the police station.
You walk into the police station and head to your superior's desk.
"Hey, I'm back." you say.
"Ah, welcome back officer." he responds.

> You say "You see those whackjobs on the news this morning? Church of Truth or something. When will these fuckin proles learn to stay in line?"
"Don't you listen to the news?" he asks.
"No." you respond.

> You say "I only listen to two things Captain, the badge, and the gun. "
"What's going on?" he asks.

> You say "You have a stroke Cap? What do you mean what's going on, I'm here to bust some heads, what cases am I working today?"
"Nothing, nothing. The usual. We've got a new detective coming in today, I think you know who."
You pause for a moment and realize he is talking about Jennifer.

You are Fernando the Magnificient, a magician and conjurer on your way to a local pub where you will be performing tricks for the patrons tonight. You have a wand, a cape, and a small dove in in your magician's bag. You stride down the pavement confidently, eager to get your act started and impress everyone with your magic skills. You walk up to the Hairy Mare and walk through the door into the bar.

"Hello," you say as you sit at one of the tables. "I'm here to perform my act."

The bartender looks over at you and smiles.

> You say "Where is the best place to stand so that everyone can see me?"
"Up there," you say, pointing to the stage.
You stand up and begin to do a small handstand, then a few somersaults.

> You say "Welcome welcome everyone! I am Fernando the Magnificient! Tonight you will witness wonderous things, magic like you have never seen before!"
You begin to chant, in a low voice.
"Oh, wait, no, that's not right..."

> You chant again, this time louder and with more confidence. With a flourish you produce a garish bouquet of flowers from your sleeve and wave it at the audience.
"These are for the lovely lady in the corner!" you announce, spotting a young girl in spectacles sitting quietly in a corner.
"That's right folks, come on up, I'll get you a rose!"

> You smile and wait for the girl to take the flowers.
The girl slowly stands and walks over to you.
"Wow," she says in a small voice. "Those are really pretty."
You smile at her politely and wait for her to speak.
"Hi," she says, holding the flowers behind her back. "I'm Wendy."
"Hi Wendy," you say.
"I just... I come here a lot and I never see you.

> "Ah, well I am from lands distant and mysterious!" You give her a wink. "Please, take a seat my dear and I shall perform my next trick!"
You turn and give the flowers to the girl in the spectacles, who smiles at you nervously.
"OK," she says, taking a seat next to a large, ugly man. "These are for you."

> You twirl your cape marvellously and with a swish of your wand and a sudden puff of smoke a beautiful dove flies out from in front of you into the room.
"Oh my!" the crowd gasps in unison.
You smile proudly and take a bow, as the girl applauds. You turn and glance at her, but she is already walking away.

> You pull out a pack of cards from your coat pocket, and ask for a volunteer from the audience.
"OK, let's see... there's a tall man in the back there," you say, pointing to a figure in a bright red suit who has somehow managed to sneak in the door unnoticed.

> You say "Hello sir! Would you care to assist me with me with my next feat? Please, approach the stage."
The man nods eagerly, and strides confidently up onto the stage.
"That's right folks, now let the show begin!" you say.
You turn and concentrate for a moment.

> Your hands move in a blur as you shuffle the cards, arcing them up into the air before they fall back into a neat pile in your hands. You spread the cards out face down and offer them to the gentleman in the red suit. You say "Please pick a card" and wait for the man to choose one.
He turns it over and says "The Four of Hearts".
You smile and say "Excellent choice!" You turn the next card over and offer it to the man.

> You say "Haha, please pick again, but this time don't tell me what it is!"
He looks at the card for a long time before turning it over. His face shows that he knows immediately what the card is. He turns it over and smiles.

> You say "You have seen what the card is, yes? Don't tell me what it is! Now I will perform a spell of magical insight that will tell me what card you chose.."
He stares at you blankly for a moment, then his face falls and he looks very sad.

> You swirl your cape, fire a few puffs of smoke from your wand while somersaulting around the stage. You stop momentarily before declaring what card the man had chosen.
The crowd bursts into applause.
"Thank you!" the man says, as he ambles off the stage.

>"I have one more wonder to delight you all with tonight!". You smile graciously and gesture towards an expensively dressed woman wearing a large decorated hat seated near the stage. "Madam, would you please join me on the stage for my final enchantment?".
The woman smiles politely and nods her assent. She stands and makes her way carefully onto the stage, keeping a careful eye on her hat. The crowd gives her a warm round of applause.
"Good evening,"

> You say "Good evening madam, now if you could please hold out your hands I will read you your fortune"
She smiles at you sweetly and nods. You take her hands in yours and concentrate hard for a moment.
Suddenly you feel an unnatural wrench in your mind, as if you are looking into the depths of hell itself.

> You say "Hmm, I sense that... you have eaten three pickled eggs, one hour ago. Is that correct?"
The woman stares at you blankly for a moment before her face goes pale. She glances down and counts the number of eggs in her lap. She looks up again and nods.
"I see, yes."

> You turn to the audience and declare - "see, the magical power of insight can illuminate all truth!" You grin magnificiently.
The woman quickly excuses herself from the audience and leaves the hall.

> "Ahem, well I suppose not everone can handle the truth!" You smile and wait for the audience's laughter.
The woman in the large decorated hat suddenly appears behind you and speaks.

> You turn around.
She speaks again, a much quieter voice than before. "You are a wizard."
You turn around.
"Can you help me escape?"
You think for a moment.

> You say "Hmm I would be happy to help you my dear! But first if you would help me perform my last feat, please stand here in front of me."
The woman agrees and stands in front of you.
You ask her to close her eyes.
"Now, imagine a rubi... no not that one, the one behind you!"

> You move your hands around around her head, without touching her or her large hat. With a superb flourish you cast your cape over her and swiftly lift it off, as you do so you deftly remove her hat, revealing the white dove from earlier which soars up and over the astonished audience. You say "Behold!" and turn to the audience with a flourish.
"And now, if you please, I have a tribute for the lovely lady dressed in black!" You turn and begin walking back towards the curtain.

> You pull back the stage curtain.
You reveal a young girl standing there. She is around fifteen years old, but at this moment she looks much older. You have to guess that she is one of the orphans from the orphanage.

> You spin your magician's hat around on your head before allowing it to fall, you catch it on one finger and balance it carefully. With a swish of your wand and a puff of smoke you conjure a splendid bouquet of exotic flowers. You offer it to the young girl in black.
The girl stands motionless, you can't be sure if it's from shock or what you did. After a moment she raises her hand and allows you to give her the flowers.

> "There you are my dear." You turn back to face the audience. "And with that, good people of this establishment, my magical demonstration is complete! I wish you all a very good rest of the evening". You bow magnaminously.
You make your way off the stage and down the stairs to the basement. You're exhausted, but know you've still got one more performance to give.

> You enter the basement.
You find yourself in a large room filled with tables, some with people sat at them, drinking, talking, or just staring into space. You recognize a few faces from the guests you saw at the beginning of the party.

> You walk up to the bar in the basement.
You walk up to the bar and see that it's completely empty. No one notices you take a glass off and downing it's contents.
"Another round for me." You order.

> You fill glass with a nice IPA and talk a big gulp.
You fill your glass with a nice pale ale and take a big gulp, chatting happily with the nearest person. After a few minutes you sense someone walking up to you and turn to see Zaren, the barkeep.

> You say "So, what did you think of the show? Pretty marvellous eh?"
Zaren looks at you blankly for a moment, before bursting out laughing.

> You say "Hey! I'll have you know I spent three years at magician college to get to this point, it's not easy getting up there and performing like that."
Zaren shakes his head.

> You say "Hmph, well anyway. I was told I had another performance to give down here?"
Zaren's face darkens. "You did? By who?"
"Um... well a girl named Annah."
Zaren looks surprised.

> You say "Annah, the woman I spoke to on the phone. She is the manager of the Hairy Mare, yes?"
Zaren nods.
"Well, she's either been mistaken, lying, or fucking dead. No one by that name has been hired for a while."
You shrug and order another drink.

> You down another pint of that delicious IPA.
Zaren walks away looking angry. You quickly drain the glass and order a refill. You chat happily with the people around you for a while, before Zaren appears again.
"Another performance?" He asks.

> You say "Yeah, I guess that is what I was paid for. You want me to get started?"
Zaren nods and heads off, no doubt to get you some more drinks. You smile and begin your routine for this section of the basement.
This is one of your easier pieces.

> You perform many wonderful tricks for the cheering clientele, magical displays, acrobatic stunts, and sleights of hand.
The applause is generous, and you enjoy your time here. Many people seem to enjoy it, and are impressed. You finish the piece and take a bow. Many applaud again.

> You say "Well then Zaren, that's my work here done for tonight. "
Zaren nods. "Yes, yes it is. Follow me."
You follow Zaren up some stairs and along a narrow corridor. Eventually you reach a metal door, which opens to a staircase leading up.

> You follow Zaren.
Zaren leads you up the stairs and into a small foyer. There's a wooden door there with a brass plaque hanging above it. Zaren pushes open the door and gestures for you to go inside.

> You go inside the wooden door.
You enter the room and find yourself in a large, luxurious bedroom. Four walls of windows look out over the city, providing a stunning view of the countless flashing lights.

> You say "Why have you brought me here?"
Zaren takes off his surgical mask. "I'm not sure if you've realised, but the party you just gave was full of people who want to kill you."
You look out the window. The view is definitely nice.

> You say "Really, why would they want to kill me, Fernando the Magnificient?"
"Because you're an asshole." Zaren says. "Also, you were invited to a lot of parties by the same person, who knows what the hell you did."

> You say "Hmph, that doesn't seem right... Well ok, say there was people down there that want me dead, why have you brought me up here? Why do you care?"
"Because I need to kill you, obviously." Zaren says. "And I can't do that while you're downstairs."
Zaren turns around and walks over to a table on the wall.

> You say "Me!? Why? What have I ever done to you?"
Zaren turns around and walks over to a table on the wall.
"The kidnapping, for one."
Zaren turns around and walks over to a table on the wall.
"The kidnapping, for one."

> You say "You can say that again, hahaha. Wait, what?? I never kidnapped anyone!"
Zaren turns around and walks over to a table on the wall.
"The first time you came into this hospital, you tried to kidnap a doctor."

> You say "This is a fucking pub! What the fuck are you talking about?"
Zaren turns around and walks over to a table on the wall.
"But that's not even the one that counts, you arrogant prick."

> You say "Stop turning around like a whirligig, and stay still man. I have never even met you before tonight, what could I have possibly done to harm you?"
Zaren turns around and walks over to a table on the wall.
"The first time you came into this hospital, you tried to kidnap a doctor."
You stare at Zaren.

> You pick up your magician's bag, throw your cape over your shoulder and walk out of the room.
"Zaren, you're a fool. And this is an outrage!"

> You walk down back the stairs through to the bar.
Zaren quickly turns around and heads back into the bedroom. You follow him, down into the bar, where he slams the door shut.
Zaren looks at you, his eyes filled with a dark rage.

> You say "I don't know what's going on, but I'm going home. Goodnight Zaren, thanks for the beer."
Zaren bursts towards you, grabbing you by the throat and slamming you up against the door. You stare at his eyes, trying to find any trace of the man you met only a few hours ago.

> You point your wand at his face and fire a puff of smoke into Zaren's eyes.
Zaren lets go of you and staggers backwards. He wipes away the blood from his broken nose and begins breathing deeply.
"Why... why Zaren?" You choke out.

> You back up towards the exit.
Zaren's eyes snap open. He snarls and charges towards you, but you're already running up the stairs. He sprints after you, knocking over chairs and busting through tables.

> You burst through the main door of the Hairy Mare and sprint out into the street, turning to see if Zaren still follows you.
He's halfway across the room.

> You start running down the street, back towards your home a half mile away.
Zaren bursts out the door after you, his long hair flowing in the wind. You begin to outpace him, but not for long. He easily catches up and tackles you to the ground.

> You throw your cape at his face, and move away.
Zaren snatches the cape from the air and charges towards you.

> You reach into your magician's bag and pull out the dove. You throw the dove at Zaren's face.
Zaren swats the dove out of the air and pins you to the ground. He jams the knife into your throat and presses it against your neck, a deep red line appearing on your skin.

> You swiftly move your wand to block the knife from cutting any deeper. You grab Zaren by the throat with your other hand and start pushing him away.
Zaren stumbles back, the knife still pressed against your neck. His eyes go wide, and he begins to laugh. The laughter builds and builds, becoming hysterical.
"I can't... I can't..."

> You strike his wrist with the base of your wand, making him drop the knife.
Zaren screams, and the knife buries itself into your chest. Your skin peels away as you go pale, your blood soaking into the fabric of your tunic.

> You stumble away, and start running. You head towards the nearby doctor's office.
Zaren takes a deep breath, and snarls. He snatches up his knife from your chest, and leaps to his feet. Zaren runs after you, passing you by.

> You run into the doctor's office, screaming that a madman is chasing you and that you need help.
Zaren bursts into the room. The doctor and his nurse look up from their desks.
"Please! Someone, help me!"
"I'm sorry, but I can't," the nurse says.

> You run into Doctor Mario's office, closing the door behind you. You plead with the doctor to protect you from Zaren.
"Sorry, kid," he says. "Zaren's a monster. I've seen what he does, and it doesn't matter who his family is."

> You say "I don't know what that means JUST FUCKING HELP ME GOD DAMN IT. Call the police, do something! "
"I wish I could, kid."
Zaren bursts into the room. He sees you, with a gun pointed at him.
"HIT ME!" he screams.

> You pick up a large paperweight from the Doctor's desk and hurl it towards Zaren.
Zaren grabs the statue and holds it defensively in front of him.
"Don't shoot!" he cries, backing up towards the door.
The doctor rushes out of his office.

> You say "When did I pick up this gun? Wow I really must be magical!"
The doctor approaches Zaren, while you slowly back away.
"Zaren, put the knife down. I can't let you hurt my patient."
"I'll kill you!" Zaren screams.

> You point your new-found gun at Zaren and order him to drop the knife and lay on the floor.
Zaren does exactly as you tell him, slowly laying on the floor with his hands in front of him.
"Don't hurt my friend," he says.
The doctor looks at you.

> You say "Doctor, can you please call the police to take this madman away? And I think I might need some medical attention."
"I can do neither," the doctor says.
Zaren slowly gets back up to his feet. He takes his knife and slices open the palms of his hands, allowing blood to flow down his hands.

> You say "Zaren! Stop this, you are possessed man!"
Zaren holds up his hands, allowing blood to flow down them. He opens his mouth and starts wailing on the doctor with a loud shriek. The doctor stumbles backwards, before running into his office.

> You shoot Zaren in the face.
Zaren is hit by the bullet, his head exploding as blood splatters the walls. He falls backwards, dead.

> You say "FUCK! What the hell was that all about? Argh! Doctor, are you alright?"
The doctor nods slowly.
"I'll live, kid. Thanks for asking. Did you really think I was going to kill you?"

> You say "No... I thought Zaren was going to. Unless there's some grand conspiracy to off me or something?"
"Not that I know of. Go on, off with you. But before you go, could you find it in your heart to help me get rid of this monster? He killed Zaren."

> You say "Wuh..? What? What monster? You mean me? I killed Zaren, I had to he was absolutely crazy. "
The doctor nods slowly.
"That's what I said, and I'm the crazy one?"
"Yeah... I suppose so..."

> You say "Look, I'm bleeding out a little here from this chest wound, could you just stitch me up and I'll be on my way home"
The doctor nods, and begins the process.
"Hold still, you're making it hard to concentrate."
He stitches your wound up, and you grudgingly allow him to do so.

> You say "Thanks Doc. I don't know what happened tonight, but I'm going to get out of here now."
The doctor nods, and hands you some pills and a glass of water.
"Here. These might help with the pain."
You take the pills, and walk out of the office, closing the door behind you.

> You walk down the street back to your home.
You make it back to your home, walking inside and collapsing into bed. You take the pills the doctor gave you, before drifting off to sleep.
