The TV you like thread

    Also Legion Season 8.

The Mrs has been a bit down on Legion, se we only watched the first episode of S2. I might try binging it to catch up tonight while she’s out drinking.
  • Anyone here watch The Ranch on Netflix?
Considering I despise Ashton Kutcher I really like the show. Also considering it's gotten quite touchy feely, I still think it's very decent

  • The Bridge S3 has a last chance warning on iplayer.  Not having much luck with this at the mo, looks like I'll have to finish up this evening.  Still a good show, but it's the weakest season.

    Any opinions on Season 4?
  • The Handmaids Tale continues to be absolutely incredible TV. Every episode seems bleaker than the last - this weeks was just brutal, disturbing and phenomenally well put together from start to finish.

I love it, Elizabeth Moss and most of the leads should win all the awards.

  • Finished Season 2 of 13 reasons why. It wasn't very good tbh.

Shit. I loved the first series.

I’ve two episodes to go of the Punisher. I know I’m late to the party but then that’s what streaming’s for I guess. I’ve really enjoyed it - best of the Netflix marvel stuff and holy fuck the main man has got charisma but then he kills a load of people in a gratuitous and callous manner and I just can’t tie the two together. There’s just too much of a juxtaposition there. I love the guy wandering and talking and looking tough and then he goes and blows a load of faceless goons faces off in close up and I can’t quite run with it. Dunno if they’ve made him too ‘nice’ for the non action stuff or what? Don’t know anything about the source material so I’m not sure where the misjudged pitching comes in.

    Would watch more though.

I've rewatched (well had on in the background) all of breaking bad over the last two weeks.

Those last couple of episodes will hit you right in the cunt.

Overall, the Punisher was too torture porn for me to enjoy.

Nice, saw the advert for that and was gonna check it out.

    Just watched it.
Not as funny or interesting as the trip but still decent.

Yep, love The Handmaid's Tale. We've just watched episode 10 of series 2, is that the one you mean? My wife was in bits. Phenomenal tv.

This pretty much needs to be watched. No faffing about.

One of the best things I've ever seen.

Belongs in multiple threads. Hopefully it's on all Netflix regions.
I'm still great and you still love it.
  • Just finished the final series of The Americans. A suitable ending to a fantastic show. Overall, one of the most consistently great in recent years.
  • The Handmaids Tale: astoundingly good, absolutely terrifying. It is beginning to make me think, though, that it might be a documentary sent back from the future to warn us about the present.

  • Also started watching Parks & Rec for the first time and now that I’m up to ep9 of season 2 I can safely say that it might be one of my all time favourite sitcoms. If nothing else, it cements Chris Pratt in my mind as a seriously gifted comic actor - but there is so much to like about everything in it.

  • His ability to make Offerman crack in the outtakes is amazing:

Obvs, the "comeback" story is the greatest:

I thought it was fantastic. Such a great way to finish it all off. More people should watch!
I'm falling apart to songs about hips and hearts...
  • Chris Pratt outtakes are better than anything in the actual show.
  • The Ken Burns Vietnam Doc that was on iPlayer a while back is now on Netflix.  It's great.

I almost want to watch it purely because I love the fact that the Ken Burns effect is a thing that exists.

If I were Ken Burns then any time anyone said anything complimentary to me I’d respond with

    “That’s the Ken Burns effect”

Then smile, wink, maybe throw some finger guns and walk out of the room.
  • Watched 2 eps of Atlanta. I don't think I get it. It doesn't feel like anything happens. Laughed twice in two episodes. Troy from Community is mostly still Troy from Community (although way less than in the Martian).

Does it get better or is it more of the same?

Hmm, I watched 2 episodes and immediately loved it.  Can't say whether it gets much better as I've only got to episode 4, but it seems like more of the same so I doubt you'll get much from it if you're not feeling it.

Will wait for some feedback as I'll need to grind though the rest of series 2.
