Zero Dark Thirty picking up all sorts of early nods, AFI top 10 films of the year out... Time to start your hypewagons.
To get you going, here is that AFI top 10 list -
Argo
Silver Linings Playbook
The Dark Knight Rises
Les Miserables
Life of Pi
Zero Dark Thirty
Lincoln
Django Unchained
Moonrise Kingdom
Beasts of the Southern Wild
So the nominations are this week. Remember, UP TO 10 films can be nommed - last year was 9 - and animated and foreign films can come in here too. So - what's your guesses? Here's my 10. Not my best 10 movies, just what I think the Academy will pick...
Lincoln, Argo, Zero Dark Thirty, Life of Pi, The Master, Moonrise Kingdom, Les Miserables, Beasts of Southern Wild, Silver Linings Playbook, Django Unchained.
In the end though, but seriously, who gives a flying fuck? Do we really need our cinematic tastes validated by shiny fucking baubles? Fuck the Oscars. Fuck awards, generally.
Don't mind me, I'm just grumpy coz I've got a report to write and I'm looking for distractions. I think I've posted something similar in every one of your Oscars threads over the years.
However, I really don't get the fascination with Awards. Why does anyone, outside of the industry, give a toss who wins 'Most Cromulant Female in a Supporting Roll'?
