Yep yep, feed me heartfelt Dylan covers. Great voice. Listened to Bear Creek again last week actually. She makes proper albums, the three I've got are all bobbing around an 8/10.
Enjoyed the divert-all-power-to-passion Dixie Chicks love in the Peck vid.
No idea what you guys have been doing in my absence, no idea how long I'm sticking around, everythings turned into the red, but in the meantime have Tim, becasue he's a fucking legend
Just had a big old aching bones soak to Cocko's Tim Barry album. It's an easy listen, proper Radox tub music. He's like a more straightforward Corey Brannan minus the guitar chops. I'm hearing a young Chris Knight in the delivery too.
Also the two fucks behind me talking loudly (obvs, because there's music playing) throughout. Gave them some looks and eventually they fucked off. I guess it's the weirdness of me being there for the support act when everyone else is there for some other guy, so just keep chatting away through support, have done it myself.
Hmm, catching up on a few releases that passed me by
I mentioned this lad before but not sure if that was a complete album or just a single, but Jason Hawk Harris will go places, he's got all the building blocks there, so have another track say I
John Calvin Abney, a bit more folky than strict country but really liking it, breathy voice, slightly ethereal, but lyrics and subject earthy as fuck
Also Sammy Kay seems to have passed me by somehow, yet he's all the things I'd normally look for. Americana, very heavy vocal fry, and this is his fourth album so I've got plenty to dig back through, you guys can have a session rather than a track
loads of fry. ginger, tall, called Sam, that all reminds me of young Mr Russo, who I'm sure has finished recording the new album, will check with him next time I him, which should be Sarah's birthday, but hey have a Sam track becasue I love him too
"I spent years thinking Yorke was legit Downs-ish disabled and could only achieve lucidity through song" - Mr B
Might be of interesting to you folk here, Billy Corgan has releases an album (as William Patrick Corgan) called Cottilions. which is a country and western affair.
It is now not too early for Christmas music. Think I need to hook Amazon Prime up again for this.
Here Kacey TEAMS UP with the great Zooey Deschanel to do that song from Chrismas Vacation where Chevy Chase is daydreaming about the goodlooking lady skinnydipping
When you got movies like Tom Cruise in them, you can't lose
Watching that tonight I think. Looking forward to the Deshanel duet, of course. Enjoyed her having a bash at some Steve:
And the original, as I'm listening to it now. Such a simple leaving a small town type song, but that 80s Earle sound just gets better the louder you play it. Gotta love early Steve Early:
Maybe start with a brandy if you have an aversion to Corden.
I find his whole success story quite fascinating tbh. He's the sort of bloke you might see dunking chicken dippers into a vat of ketchup at the bar in a workingman's club, and yet here he is - having made it across the pond still doing the same publad shtick - getting cheered for guffawing while doing a Chuckle Brothers sketch and dueting with Kacey fucking Musgraves.
