I got a three months for a few quid offer they had on recently which has now run out. I've let it carry on as it really is a convenience, and no ads is a blessing even though they were marginally intrusive, you do get a higher quality stream too. Worth exploring the family account option with one or two others to split the cost.

I fired that up quite recently actually. The handling took a bit of getting used to again but otherwise it holds up pretty well and looks good. The demolition stuff is still great fun.
Can’t remember when I last switched my Bone on. Took me ages to find power cable and controller but system now updated and I even still have EA Access left until 27 Nov! Better get cracking on Titty 2 and BF1 which is what I got it for.
Anyway. Ready to grab FH4 on Friday morning and play later at night.
Set up the new X last night, lovely bit of kit and whisper quiet to boot. After some fiddling, I managed to get my TV to run in HDR mode but couldn't quite get the right settings for the picture.
I've got a Sony Bravia KD49XE9005 which I think @Webbins and maybe a few others here also have. I'd be interested what settings you use when running the X if anyone can share?
Good telly choice, Cos. I'll take some pics tonight of my settings.

It did take some fiddling but I think I've got them down.

No issues with the Turtle Head XO Ones I got. Good price and performance for your needs.

I followed a couple of guides, AVForums had one, but I wasn't totally convinced so did a bit of tweaking. I think some of it comes down to personal preference.
With the Sony being 10 bit it's mega bright so I definitely had to knock the brightness down from the recommended. It was actually making me squint.

I should have the settings for you then. I've kept sharpness as default as you should. If Hair makes an appearance, don't let him take you down the vivid route.

Stick with me, Cos. I'm a true gamer, I'll see you right.

Some of the settings like brightness and contrast might be subjective to your surroundings. I've not gone into the colour settings and changed levels from default but again this is subjective. I think only HDMI ports 2 and 3 are HDR enabled but 3 is the ARC one which I use for the soundbar so the Bone is in 2. Not sure if you've sussed out the ports and have 4k and HDR working correctly.

What is the long term forecast of the X? is this seen as a halfway house to the next gen with the extra power, or will it be dropped like the others when the next gen launches? I'm thinking of picking one up but I'm reluctant to lay out £400 if it is being replaced in the next couple of years when the PS5 launches.
What Muz said. Back compatibility is a big part of the Bone, and since day one Bone games have been running on a virtual machine in the box rather than directly on the hardware, which makes forward-compatibility very easy.
Furthermore, I’m fairly convinced that games are currently being designed (at least by the first party studios) with forward compatibility in mind. I would bet money that when the X2 is released, it will run Forza Horizon 4 on day one in 4K at 60FPS.
