I played a little more, got my chaps back from Jool after doing a bit of a tour with some landings. I'm thinking something to do with Moho next, but I'm not sure what. A station is probably too ambitious, but I like the idea of it. Maybe just putting someone in orbit - I don't think I've ever even landed a probe there before.
Doesn't unlimited fuel completely defeat the challenge of the game?
It does, but I needed to practice stuff and that was the best way to do it. All I was doing was launching rocket after rocket and getting stranded somewhere.
There's a substantial new update for this out on the 11th of Oct. Among various things, it includes the need to have relay stations to allow full control of unmanned vessels.
Sadly, that news has been over shadowed by the resignation of a whole load of the dev team amid rumours of terrible working conditions and pay. So it might be the end of the game, sadly.
So this is still going. I also read that it's on sale on Steam 6with a hefty discount. It's an amazing game for people interested in space exploration.
Ooh, that's interesting. Something made me fancy trying it last week but when I checked Steam I was surprised to find it was £30, which seemed a bit steep. Can anyone confirm the current price?
Also, one thing to note with Steam, is that it will often auto patch the game, which can mean that any mods installed wont work. I think there is a way to avoid it but I'm not totally sure.
The new expansion looks interesting, though I'm not sure I can be bothered to run through the career again before getting to Duna and enjoying the new reasons to go there.
If you haven't played the game before then if you're interested in space flight I can definitely recommend it. According to Steam I've got 400 hours played, so definitely got my money's worth.
I found a video of my Jool 5 mission uploaded to youtube (unlisted) which I'd forgotten about. The video is completely unedited aside from being sped up to something like x2 or x4, but it might be interesting to flick about (with sound disabled) to see the behemoth space station/ship that I took there, and the Tylo landing itself. Apologies that most of the video is just messing around with maneuver nodes and ogling my own handiwork.
Installed and I've done the first tutorial, which has given me a glimpse of how ludicrously complicated this is going to get, primarily by locking me out of all the ludicrousness but letting me know it's there.
I'm strongly tempted to sort out laptop to TV for this, as I don't really like sitting in this little office room playing games. Just need to figure out the best way to do that.
Surely this doesn't need a sequel? They could just squeeze more DLC into the original. I must play it again, it's remarkable, I haven't even tried the XB1 version.
