  • @vela - you've been added to the OP.

This thread here is still open for business, so don't be shy now.
  • I'm whittling mine. Won't have time tomorrow. Maybe over the weekend.

  • Cheers for the compilation. Handy to have the link for when I inevitably remember something I forgot.

Silkworm was a near inclusion, I wonder what @Jaco thinks of it given the number of Amiga games in your lists...

Aye, that's the plan. If you play something you wanna add, just go to page one and update from there. When you do, post an update to let us know. Thanks again. :)

It's taken most of the week doing this during downtime at work but finally got there. I actually really enjoyed doing it. A lot of my list are games that evoke great memories of a specific time in my life - playing games for the first time with my dad, being wowed by something new and endless local multiplayer sessions.

Some of those I hadn't thought about in a long time so thanks to Cinty for creating this thread and reminding me of those times. I've thoroughly enjoyed reading the other lists too, hope there's more to come.

  • Cool list.

Nice to see someone else enjoyed Striker as much as me.

There's quite a few football games in my list, and at the time they were probably all in with a good shout of being my favourite ever game.

Just a shame they've stagnated into two yearly updates and sod all else. There was so much choice back in the day.

edit: just noticed the Championship Manager love - respect!

Yeah, I could easily have chucked in a few more early Pro Evos and FIFA '10-'12 but went for the ones that stand out most to me. You're right about the stagnation these days. Haven't bothered buying any this year, currently getting my kicks from Rocket League.

  • Greendog is probably the most surprising game on anyone's list so far.  I thought it was nice to look at but awful to play, so I never tried it (56% in the official mag iirc).  Gonna give it a go over the weekend, I remember wanting it based on the footage on a covermounted VHS but being put off by the reviews.
  • Nice to see Captain Commando. Only old school brawler I've got in mine.

@Moot Obviously been a while since I played it but I loved it at the time. I do remember the jumping could be described as inconsistent at best which lead to some frustrating moments but the look of it, the variety of levels (on a skateboard! riding his cyclecopter thing!) and that it was unlike almost anything else I'd played at the time just kept me coming back.

@Elf If I could get one arcade cabinet, that would be it.
  • Nice to see someone else enjoyed Striker as much as me.
I had Striker on mine too, and I think someone else did.

It's funny because as a simulation of football it was always rubbish, but as a 2-player videogame it was just absurdly fun. Indoor mode was particularly silly, with constant scoring more like basketball than footy.
  • Yeah mine, unless there's a fourth.

I played it constantly with my old neighbour.

At the time we were both in Sunday league teams and spent a good chuck of time editing a team and player names to our own before playing a whole tournament, all that without battery back up. Did it almost every session.
