If I every get 'round to playing The Cave and it's any good, I might try this. I'm yet to be convinced Gilbert is worthwhile without Schafer (or another foil), though.

I wasn't a huge fan of the cave as the mechanics kind of got in the way of any narrative - this seems to be much safer ground. -

The little I've played of The Cave hasn't grabbed me on the story front, either, but I'm kinda hoping that'll improve with progress.

The Cave is dire. Trust. And there's only the tiniest incentive to play other characters after an initial play as they have all the same areas bar a single unique one. Which as it's random can turn up right at the end after you've done the same puzzles you did three times already. -

They do a short weekly podcast - it's quite good and gives a nice insight into the dev of the game (if you search 'Thimbleweed podcast' I'm sure it'll turn up)

I thought I'd give this a bump as there's only a few days left to back it. I've done so now and been absolved of my Monkey Island piracy guilt. It feels good.
It looks like the game's coming along nicely too.
