Was the first testfire a complete disaster? For all its internet foibles actual splatoon game (and all other Nintendo games) ran great online.

Putting aside the question of whether there's a demo or not, what's different here? Courses and weapons, sure, but anything else? Shitty bolted on SP quest mode? 8v8? New MP modes?

Yeah I just found it a bit of a chore and the proper game was so good so the choice was easy.

It's something Nintendo should do more imo, there's nothing wrong with just more of the same, within reason.
Games like F-Zero and Wave Race could especially benefit from it. A lick of HD paint, online enabled - job done.オレノナハ エラー ダ -

I thought it was an absolute ballache to get on. Once on it was great but the servers were fucking up the time to get a game. They added an extra testfire.

Freshest(honestly) 3rd person shooter series in ages, so def up for more of the same.
Hope it lands with a single player mode that can match the first ones lofty heights & if it must include Amiibo support, which in no doubt it will, that they are just as clever with it as they were in the 1st.
Also this time, proper comms? -

Genuinely, it's the second fucking Splatoon and its getting flack despite the fact barely anyone played it so it will be new to millions. The fact they've bothered to add stuff to make it a numbered sequel is a thing, given Mario kart isn't getting that. I expect, much like the first, a hell of a lot of new shit to be unveiled as we go. -
