Has anyone here ever played a video game which is primarily a sex game?

It's never crossed my mind to do so but i'd not judge anyone who had. With the advent of VR porn I wondered if this is a future gaming thing. I would argue everyone here knows a fair bit about games but I personally can't name a single sex video game even though I know there were things like that around the late 80's early 90's on PC.

I'll state the obvious and refer to Custer's Revenge which was on the Atari 2600 along with a few other adult games.

Custer's Revenge throws rape and racism into the mix - you control the titular general who has to cross the screen dodging arrows to get to an Indian squaw tied to a post -using the single button to thrust you score 1pt per oscillation.

Mystique who developed and published this "game" also produced X-Man (a maze game with a sex scene mini game for those who successfully reach the centre - the game varying the orifice each time), Beat 'em and eat 'em (a catch style game - catch the drops) and Batchelor Party, with a Batchelorette version (may have been a ROM hack though) - a Breakout variant.

I can remember Mac Playmate doing the rounds in university.

Back on ye olde Atari ST, I used Shoot-Em-Up Construction Kit to make a pew pew game with a crudely drawn cock & balls instead of a spaceship. Does that count?

It was certainly an adult game - something there should be more of without resorting to smut.

There was a game in my local arcade, can't recall the name. Where you controlled a machine that went around the edge of the screen. There was a picture of a cartoon woman with clothes on in the centre of the screen. The aim of the game was to capture sections of the playarea by moving the machine into the arena and back to the edge of the screen without getting hit.

Once you got enough say 90%, you'd beaten the level and you were rewarded with a pic of the cartoon woman naked. And then next level was a different cartoon woman. It was a very popular game.

There definitely used to be amateur sex/porn games kicking around. There were plenty distributed through PD libraries etc, but the few I saw were universally shit.

There was always talk of professional sex-based games in the Japanese market – that sort of thing always got mentioned in “ha ha how weird is Japan, eh?” articles in the gaming press.

When I got my OG X-Box chipped back in the day the Amiga rom-set revealed plenty of amateurish sex games. The best/worst involved a pixelated porn image with a waggle meter at the side. You furiously waggled your joystick to raise the meter. When it reached the top your reward was a burst of distorted audio that vaguely resembled a man jizzing. You then moved on the next level with a new picture and a meter that required a more dedicated waggle to reach the point of climax. Top stuff.

I vaguely remember playing something like that back in teens. As this was pre-widespread-internet days, it was the hardest-core shit I saw for probably a decade.

Theres quite a few sex games on PC, mostly download only. There was also I believe like an MMO type game which was based around fucking.

Or the fucking weirdness of Second Life. That was bizarre. Dunno if its still going.

Yeah, Second Life's still going. Hasn't progressed at all, from what I've seen.

There's plenty of shitty games about sex, designed to titillate the less discerning players, but I don't see a huge amount of decent stuff.

One better example - probably the best I've seen, in fact - is Luxuria Supurbia, which is all abstract and synesthetic. It's actually surprising how arousing it is to play.

On a more comical note, Genital Jousting is pretty fun in groups and the developers seem to have a good attitude toward the subject.

IIRC, there have been some decent text games dealing with the subject, but I'm not entirely sure and certainly can't remember any.

Oh, think there used to be a few communities of people using the MUSH engine for multiplayer sex games, particularly BDSM-based. Don't know if that scene's still going.

My Google-Fu reckons it could have been Perestroika Girls or, more likely, Gals Panic.

I saw an article recently - possibly in the guardian - that mentioned a sort of wario ware style sex game, and had big old school pixelated graphics. actually looked alright I thought. No idea of the name though.

I remember finding this amongst a huge set of MAME ROMs.
