September is starting to look increasingly crazy for games, with the following release schedule so far.

September 4: Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
    September 7: Spider-Man
September 14: Shadow of the Tomb Raider
    September 21: Spyro Reignited Trilogy

And for RPG fans, that's off the back of a busy August, with Octopath Traveller coming out on Switch and Yakuza Kiwama 2 coming out on August 28. And the line-up doesn't include any further yet-to-be announced games - Nintendo will probably have something out on Switch.

What will you be buying in September? What do you think will be the sales winners and the sales losers? Are you going to have to make a difficult decision about what releases to support? Or are you going to be buying *everything*?

Share your thoughts on what looks set to be an exciting game-packed month.

No release dates yet, but I expect that there or thereabouts we will be seeing Halo 6 and Forza Horizon 4. I’ll be buying them.
  • I'm expecting to handle it by not being interested in the majority of the games.

Of the ones mentioned, I'm going to buy Spider-Man, Tomb Raider is on the list for buying on sale at some point after I've finished bought then finished Rise and nothing else appeals.

I don't really follow Xbox, so I didn't know that. Goshhh, what a busy month it's going to be. Nintendo will almost certainly announce something for that month as well, just depends how major it will be.

  • Red Dead 2, thought that had slipped to next year for some reason.  That's most of November sorted.
  • Oh, Captain Toad. I might buy that.

Interesting to see SWD2 is getting a physical release.

Microsoft haven’t even announced these yet, but based on previous release schedules, end of this year seems a decent bet.

My backlog on the Bone is probably nearing 3 figures at the moment. I can’t justify a sub service to provide me with loads more stuff I won’t get around to playing.

Could be Smash or Travis, both are 2018 but don't have a date yet. Guessing Smash will be closer to Christmas though.

The sweet fuck? You have a massive backlog but you'll buy £80 of games that seem like they'll have a chance of hitting the backlog rather than pay £8 for one month to probably focus on them?

I very rarely buy new games and almost never ones that seem likely to hit any backlog. The last games I bought at release were SoT, Destiny 2, Thimbleweed Park (actually, The Room 3 or 4 or W/E and Monument Valley 2 on my iPhone too). It’s just unusual that there are two full-price games that I want at release coming out so close together.

I’ll play through Halo as soon as it comes out, Horizon 4 within a Friday or two of release.
