I'm up for a Legendary run at anniversary co-op if anyone's up for it. I'd be quite up for trying to pick up a couple of the tougher achievements in co-op as well.

Halo fans piece together the Halo 4 box art.

Earlier today Microsoft sent out 32 pieces of artwork to fans with the title of: “Your piece of the Halo 4 puzzle.” At the NeoGAF forum, users quickly collaborated and put together an amazing piece of art which appears to be the cover for Halo 4.

• Nice pic Swirl, is that official?

I've been away the last few days and I'm going away again this weekend.  Have a few days free inbetween so will try and get some Halo in.
Today is the shadow of tomorrow.
• Looks like OP material to me. If y'know what I mean?
aaaaaAAH FA-SHION!
• I see the OP still hasn't been sorted, very disappointing Oatker, very....
Today is the shadow of tomorrow.
• With regards to Halo4 then, does anyone give credence to the wiki stuff saying they'll be more exploration elements, not just shootin' this time?
It wasn't until I hit my thirties that I realised you could unlock rewards by exploring the map

What I took from that is that the campaign would be aiming to be like the first game's with that feeling of exploring a mysterious world, not necessarily a change in gameplay. Although I always loved the open structure of the ending of the level Halo when you can collect the marines in any order, and I'd love to see level design like that.

I think so. It was given out in separate pieces by Microsoft to a few Halo fans on Neo-Gaf, and they put it together. Current thinking is that it's the box art.

Interesting way to do a reveal but my fucking christ why don't they use their own website for info, the one with HALO in the name.

• I got a piece in an E-mail from Microsoft.
• So, which multiplayer Halo is the best. I'm giving them another spin once I'm done with that Resistance nonsense.

Whichever one most forumites are on so probably Reach ATM, although many still think 3 is the better experience due to no bloom or armour lock.

He could've just said they came from another planet but seems keen to convince people with his bullshit pseudoscience that he knows stuff. I wouldn't trust him with my lunch. - SG
• Title Updated Reach is still very good IMO, so if Halo 3 population is low, it can't hurt giving that a bash.

Limited Edition extras:
The Limited Edition includes access to nine maps - three future competitive multiplayer map packs, each including three locations, available for download post-launch on Xbox LIVE. Yes, you read that correctly; you get nine maps in the form of future DLC with the purchase of the Halo 4 Limited Edition.
Everyone will have access to select Specializations, but those that purchase the Halo 4 Limited Edition will receive the ability to unlock six Specializations early, available at launch on Xbox LIVE. You can use them, one at a time, to achieve higher ranks in your Spartan career.

Just had a press release through from MS.

Say hi to Halo Infinity:

Introducing “Halo Infinity Multiplayer”*

The hub of the “Halo 4” multiplayer experience is the UNSC Infinity – the largest starship in the UNSC fleet that serves as the centre of your Spartan career. Here you’ll build your custom Spartan-IV supersoldier, and progress your multiplayer career across all “Halo 4” competitive and cooperative game modes. Surrounded by the sights, sounds and crew of the biggest vessel in the UNSC fleet, your multiplayer experience will be embedded in the fiction of “Halo” like never before, where your progress and game choices affect your appearance, arsenal, and role on the battlefield.

· Spartan Ops. The story of the UNSC Infinity intersects with the “Halo 4” campaign, then continues on in a brand-new, story-driven experience known as Spartan Ops. A first of its kind and anexciting new addition to the “Halo” franchise, Spartan Ops is an episodic adventure that blends immersive storytelling, high-quality cinematics, and action-packed gameplay to deliver an unprecedented serialised experience.

Through a weekly series of cinematic episodes on Xbox LIVE, Spartan Ops will tell the continuing story of the UNSC Infinity, following the events of “Halo 4.” These episodes will centre on the UNSCInfinity leaders and crew, and a new team of Spartans – Majestic Squad. These cinematic episodes will provide the backdrop for the weekly Spartan Ops gameplay missions. Playable in single-player or cooperatively (with up to three friends), explore the corners of Requiem in these objective-based missions, and help uncover the secrets of the mysterious Forerunner world.

A massive-scale adventure that builds off the “Halo 4” story, access to Spartan Ops is included with “Halo 4” at no additional charge – effectively delivering two campaign experiences in one game.*

· War Games. The competitive multiplayer modes of “Halo 4,” known as War Games, take place on the combat deck of the UNSC Infinity and revive the visceral and immersive experiences that “Halo” multiplayer is famous for. “Halo 4” introduces fresh, immersive new game modes and strategies to help you progress your Spartan-IV career, while also delivering an experience that’s still distinctly and uniquely “Halo.” More details on all the modes of War Games will be released at a later time.

· Total Combat Freedom and Player Progression. “Halo 4” features a vastly expanded suite of new multiplayer modes, weapons, vehicles, armour abilities, a new loadout and player progression system, and a new armour modification system that introduces gameplay-enhancing customisations for the first time in a “Halo” game. These advancements can be used in both Spartan Ops and certain War Games matchmaking playlists, empowering player choice, vastly expanding their creative options, and make the experience deeper for core fans and more approachable for newcomers.

The “Halo 4” player progression system goes beyond simple aesthetic upgrades, encouraging players to invest time and effort to create a Spartan that looks and plays the way they want. Players can earn and activate combat enhancements called “Specialisations” based on the style of play they engage in, from stealth to all-out assault, and everything in between.
• @Petey: There's a lot of really dumb ideas creeping into the marketing side of FPS.
• Ignoring the maps, and provided you use Title Update settings to good effect, Reach is MUCH better than Halo 3. Unfortunately it's really hard to find good Title Update settings in the standard Reach playlists.
GT: Knight640
• I don't think Reach has better maps than 3 though.
• Everyone will have access to select Specializations, but those that purchase the Halo 4 Limited Edition will receive the ability to unlock six Specializations early, available at launch on Xbox LIVE. You can use them, one at a time, to achieve higher ranks in your Spartan career.

Right, so even on day one everyone won't be on an even footing.

Nice.

• The maps on Reach stopped me playing Halo. Recently I've been listening to all the Halo Soundtracks during driving and working and I now really really want to play all the Halo campaigns again.
aaaaaAAH FA-SHION!
• So just found this on waypoint - some lovely new footage, and fair play, looks fairly promising in terms of speed, jump hight etc.
