  • Cultural appropriation most likely. I dunno, I didn't press the issue.
  • I mean, if foxy ladies were my thing it'd be fine, but I'd totally be getting that just for the comedy value of a white male having some big afro ladies on his wall. A white male having 80s porn pictures is less problematic I think. I'm guessing here tho.

Chalkboard, sounds stupid but don't use chalk, dust will bea pain. Chalk pens all over the place these days, used when doing a-boards for pubs. Might be easier

Ah just prints is fine, will check Redbubble, ta!

If you can download a decent enough high res scan, it's pretty much just as cheap to order a canvas or art paper print these days.

    Fuck that's pretty cheap.
Seems a good set too, I always liked my old Philips sets when I had them.

    Looks very good.

My usual form with TVs is get a "-1" model. And Argos is a good place for that. Got two of my TVs from there - 32" and 50" Sony Bravias from there. The 50" is still 1080 and smart - was around £700 three years ago which was pretty good at the time.

I would have liked one a bit bigger (it's on a good sized wall in a large room) but it was the end of the extension project and no more money. I don't think I could ever justify paying £1000 for a TV no matter how well off I was though.

However it now won't update itself which is a minor pain as some of the apps won't work - though I can use my BluRay for that.

  • It's ok so far. The menu and remote control layouts aren't as intuitive as they could be, but other than that it's the business! Not really watched much in super duper 4k as I haven't had internet installed yet, but a brief look last night impressed.
  • what's a -1 model?

Tbh, I'm not overly impressed with any of the TV OS's. They could all do with some improvement.

One model behind the latest. With me it's a case of at least -1.

Somehow I've fucked my shoulder, hurts to lift my arm over my head or reach forward. No idea how I could have done it. Is it better I exercise it or rest it?
  • Man goes to the doctor and says it hurts when I lift my arm. I can't remember the punchline.

If it's really bad, or doesn't get better in a short while then I probably would go to a doctor. But you can try gently massaging the surround muscles and stuff to try and release whatever is pinching nerves. You can do that sort of thing just by sitting or sleeping funny, holding a position for too long.

It's not really bad, it's just been sore for a few days now.
  • I fucked mine once when reaching for a coat. It went away eventually but it took a while, and came back for a bit a few months later but not as bad. Been fine for a year or so now. Getting old innit?

Can do shoulders really easily, mnine was lifting a duvet. See a physio, they're wonderful, and really strengthened my rotator cuff after tears in loads of those little muscles. It's very specific movements affected so might not noticed unless they're isolated but could lead to further injuries if not looked at

  • Unless things have changed radically over the past 12 months or so I’m pretty certain. The sonos playbar is the actual best, followed by the sonos beam (which is newer so has slightly better tech but is more budget-y than the og playbar).

All others are varying levels of fine.
  • Sonos bar/base with two Sonos ones for rear surround is a good option as ticks a very nice music box alongside the cinema option. I was gonna do that before I went fullretard on an AV system.

  • I have a Sonos Beam and I think it is great.

Great sound, as good as you are gonna get really from just a bar.
The setup App is cool, proper future.
Alexa support can be useful but can also be turned off with the press of a button if you don't like it listening in.
Nice build quality, it feels like a well made product, like an Apple product type thing.

You are all wrong. If you want actual surround sound then you get a a Yamaha YSP Series, that YSP is important, others just don't actually do surround properly. YSP will bounce sounds off your walls and give you a decent surround alternative, by far the best I've ever heard in what's essentially a one box solution

Now they aren't cheap, but Yamaha refresh the range almost every year so there are always one or two year old models in as new or shop soiled condition at heavy discounts. So good that loads of places love to demo them so plenty of ex demo stuff available as well. Not as bad as it sounds as build quality is excellent (don't use their crossers as a yardstick)

  • Here's a good one.......

Another cineworld site manager called me today, asking for advice, but it's beyond my internet knowledge, hoping someone here can help.

So, avengers out at midnight tomorrow, every site is jumping (my site alone has over 4000 tickets sold, just for our double bills and midnight shows), obviously we've all ramped up our stock holding for it. Our Starbucks store ordering portal is done via a mobile app. Turns out some cheeky bugger has went onto the app for another site, deleted all the fresh food orders, and replaced it with 1 solitary banana. Inside I'm laughing, but my gaffers asked if we can figure out who it was. The GM from that site has somehow managed to get an ip address, and it apparently relates to the same postcode as my site on the other side of Glasgow.

Using the ip address, can we figure out the mobile number that used the app to place the order? Top suspect is a manager that quit recently, but this seems out of character for him.
