Roguelike in Iso view. Usual beautiful hand drawn supergiant presentation.
And their usual slickness around UI and what stuff does. Everything just works immediately.
Some very different play options going on.
Big fuck off swords as well as ranged options.
Some of the ranged options almost reach Mr shifty style awesomeness.
As per, the way the story slides in with gameplay is brilliant.
If I was looking to describe through mashing games: dead cells, Mr shifty, apotheon, and transistor.
My best run so far...

In summary it’s fucking ace and is a must buy for sub £6
The writing is first class, genuinely funny and the “oh one more go” is off the charts.

Made it to second boss, thankfully the levels are not “more of the same” with some really interesting enemies in the second world.
Still not unlocked any short cuts (although there has been conversations hinting at it), hopefully it doesn’t do a welcome to gungeon where the criteria for opening shortcuts aren’t overly complicated / difficultSwitch Friend Code: SW-5407-6034-9226

In my mash up comparison above, I should have added pyre.
Its an obvious comparison, but the way the story is handled and the collecting of stuff is near identical.
But also, there's a surprising similarity between the controls, given the different type fo games they are. Hades borrows heavily from pyre's ranged and charged weapon mechanics.

Semi consistently getting to second boss now.

Got it to a quarter health on one run.
Have unlocked a lot of the reciprocal gifts now, some very handy options.
There's still bunch of symbols and systems I'm still to suss completely though.
For further mash up comparisons: the deflect mechanics work like a bullet hell shmup and it's genius.

This game is the absolute shit, love it. Currently prefer it to Dead Cells I think, everything has some serious clout.
Currently running this insane Special stacking build - faster special, bigger AoE, more damage, Chaos bonus, Artemis Bonus - Crits coming out every other attack doing around 398 damage, 470 odd if I've stuck a Cast on them.
Also Blingo Blango, a winner is me!
