Assuming scores were right that looks like a game that really swung in different directions, must've been brill to watch I got 67-55 bucks from google, 93-73 from yourself, and now 119-98 bucks from another site. This game is too hard to watch, they must've just witched off massively
"I spent years thinking Yorke was legit Downs-ish disabled and could only achieve lucidity through song" - Mr B
Haven't watched much recently, but from listening to various pods and the logic of the line ups...
- embiid simmons fit is issue. Clogged paint.
- adding horford who seems to be tailing off doesn't help offensively.
- embiid is still out of shape/injured.
- brown has run out of juice with getting through to players.
- lack of legit shooting. (jj bigger out than we give credit for?)
Well jealous of Brooks, but agree wholeheartedly re the difference live. I haven't been to an nba game, and I was along way away from boomers v dream team, but even local pro/semi pro leagues, when you're next to the court, it's something else again.
(heck, when you get some big units going at it even in u21s it's awesome.)
(as previously mentioned, euroleague is a good fucking league, and there's some real big units there too. Get ye to games if yyo can guys.)
Didn't watch the clips game, but lakers coming out of weekend looking bullish.
Clips have generally been looking great. Bucks losing a few is fine.
Bodes well for playoffs.
Rockets back on struggle Street is interesting.
Atkinson getting "fired" in Brooklyn is also interesting.
Lowe arnovitz breaking it down minutely.
Meanwhile, in local news, I'm stepping down/sideways from my director of coaching role so I can focus on actually coaching again. Still have a team to coach and I'll be head of player development too.
Less meetings, more coaching.
Our new u21 men's coach is at a point where he wants to be in more of that off court role so perfect timing.
Have just finished grading phase for our teams. Managed to sneak into metro 4 with my u14s. Which is a great effort. There's basically 15 odd divisions at u14s, Vic championship is top. Then 4 metro divisions. Then regional down to however many teams/comps they can create.
From where we started we could have finished anywhere from low regional to met 4. So basically did as well as possible.
Gonna play some good teams now.
Because we're under 14s, zones are banned. Made for an interesting situation in our second last grading match. We lost by a point. But even watching live I thought they were pushing envelope as far as zone goes, at least with their centre. Once I reviewed footage, it was actually glaring. Put in a zone report. Boom. Result reversed.
Justice was clearly done, because we came out against a better team last Friday and absolutely dismantled them by 17 points.
Finally, this is me telling you all to watch more euroleague.
Barca v panathonikis (fuck spelling) from a week or so ago was epic.
Been watching zenit v zalgaris this morning from the weekend. Amazing game.
If you want to know what pros might look like not playing 82 48 minute games a season with more practice time, then this is it.
Dudes PLAY HARD. Defense can actually win out on occasion.
If the season manages to restart and there's play offs it'll actually be interesting.
From an injury and rest perspective it could make for a great play off's. Some rust, but if they manage a few lead in games, older guys wanting to play 40+ minutes will be in better shape.
