Basically a kind of AI generated text adventure that riffs off your inputs, can produce some shockingly lucid results.
Here's my first attempt at a playthough, choosing the fantasy preset (there's a bunch of other starting points too, including a custom one that you can have some fun with). It's very rough, I was quite lazy so mostly just played along with what it came up with, you can add alot of embellishment and use some commands to get it more sensible. The ending is how they often seem to end unless you really guide it, quite fun really. Spoilered to prevent text wall -
All the lines following a > are my input, everything else was generated. It's quite good how it sort of remembers some stuff, but then wanders off on tangents. It's suprisingly similar to dreams actually, in that you rarely get the conclusion to any narrative, and everything just morphs as it goes on and doesn't quite make sense.Spoiler:Home
You are Brok, a ranger living in the kingdom of Larion. You have a hunting bow and a quiver of arrows. You have been searching for a mystical beast for 3 months tracking it through the forest. As you behind a clump of trees you see a red dot coming from the distance. You draw your bow and aim at the dot.
It is coming towards you, but very fast.
> You wait until it gets closer.
You wait for the creature to get closer and you let an arrow fly. You hit the creature straight in the neck. It slows down but keeps coming.
> You nock another arrow and loose at the creature again.
You nock another arrow and let it fly. The creature seems to be wounded and your arrow hits it right in the neck again. The creature stops moving, but you notice a faint smoke coming from it.
> You investigate the smoke.
You walk towards the smoke and find a scorched scroll case on the ground with some papers inside it. You open the papers and read: "King Filya's chambers".
> You read the other papers.
You read the other papers in the scroll case. They seem to be plans to invade the kingdom of Malk. You remember that King Filya is your cousin and knows everything about you.
> You visit King Filya.
As you approach the castle, guards stop you and ask for identification. As they let you inside, they tell you that King Filya has been assassinated and that there was a power struggle between his two sons.
> You say "Who was the assassin?"
The guards are baffled and don't know. They say something about a shadow, but you weren't aware that there were any shadow sympathizers here.
> You say "Who rules the kingdom?"
They tell you that the throne has been empty for two months and nobody knows who is in charge. The palace is in disarray.
Enter the palace and investigate

You enter the palace and begin to investigate, but it seems like everybody is trying to kill you for some reason or another. The guards are incompetent at best, and actively working against you for whatever reason.
> You make your way to the chamberlain.
After being challenged by several soldiers on the way, you make it to the chamberlain's office where he is surprised to see you, especially after the warnings that went out to kill you.
> You say "What is going on here? Who killed King Filya and where are his sons?"
The chamberlain explains that King Filya died of a heart attack two months ago and that his two sons began fighting over who would take his place.
> You say "The guards told me that he was assassinated..."
He sighs and says "I wish it was that simple, but it wasn't a heart attack. It was a shadow assassination by Darruk."
> You say "That bastard! Do we know where Darruk is hiding?"
He tells you that he knows Darruk's second, Rask, quite well and that he should be able to give you more information if you want.
> You say "Where can I find Rask?"
He tells you that he lives in Sinkhole which is a small swampy town east of here.
> You say "Thank you. What of the King's sons? Where are they and who will rule the kingdom?"
He doesn't know, nobody knows, and nobody seems to care all of a sudden as you're about to be attacked by an army of angry soldiers running in your direction.
> You escape out of the nearby window, clamber down the walls and away from the castle into the nearby woods.
You escape into the woods and lose them, but unfortunately lose sight of the castle as well. The woods are getting darker by the minute and you don't feel safe in this darkness.
> You light a fire and make camp for the night.
You build a small fire and as it dies down so does your visibility.
> You sleep until morning.
You wake up at dawn and see a new path to your left leading towards the edge of the forest.
> You set off towards Sinkhole in search of Rask.
You continue your journey towards Sinkhole, a little village of small huts in the distance. As you draw nearer you notice that something is off about this place; there are no people milling about or doing chores.
> You ask a nearby villager what is happening here.
Nobody responds, nobody seems to be around at all actually. There is one house still standing, but nobody is around, it seems like everyone has disappeared. Even the animals are absent from this place.
> You enter the still standing house.
You see a broken table, some scraps on the floor and a few dirty bowls. There are no doors or windows in this place, it is just a roofless house.
> You investigate the scraps.
It seems that someone has been eating their meals off of this table, but nobody has been here for days at least. Whoever it was must have moved on already.
> You look for any clues that might lead to Rask.
> You look for footprints leading away from the house.
You see some clear footprints leading away from the house, they seem new. You follow them into the forest.
Suddenly your foot catches on something hard, it is a trapdoor.
> You draw your sword and open the trapdoor.
As it opens you find yourself in pitch darkness and then a blinding light stabs your eyes as a sword appears in front of you suddenly. A deep voice says "It's only me"
> You say "Is that you, Rask?"
The sword disappears and a hand appears from out of the darkness and grips your own hand tightly "Yes, it's me".
> You say "What happened to the village, why are you hiding down here?"
"The villagers didn't agree with my leadership and killed me in my sleep" he whispers in your ear "Then they killed each other". His breath is rank with death.
"They came for me early this morning"
> You say "I'm sorry Rask. Are you in pain?"
"I won't complain" Rask says "But if you're asking if I'm in physical pain then no I'm not". He lets go of your hand.
> You say "Do you know what happened at the castle? Where is Darruk?"
Rask is quiet for a moment before answering "He left two days ago to do some mercenary work in Delantium so I assume he's still alive. Probably with the mercenaries you met when you first got here".
> You say "I didn't see them. I will look for Darruk in Delantium, I need to ask him why he killed my cousin.."
Rask puts his hand on your shoulder and looks into your eyes "Don't bother I'll tell you right now he won't care or understand".
> You say "This is something I must do my friend, there's nothing left for me here now anyway.. What of you? Clearly the proper death rites where not performed, you walk here when you should be in the next world."
Rask looks at you thoughtfully before replying "You're probably right, I should be dead. But I can't be right now. Come on we need to find some place safer to talk about this".
> You say "Ok. Let's head away from here, towards Delantium."
Rask pulls a bottle of wine from inside his coat and pours you both a glass before drinking himself "To long lost friends" he says holding his glass out to you.
> You say "to long lost friends", and drink the glass of wine in one gulp.
As the wine hits your stomach your whole body tenses up in pain. It was meant to hit your blood stream after all.
> You drink some water and eat some bread to alleviate the pain. Then set out with the undead Rask on the road towards Delantium.
You travel with Rask for a couple of days through more wilderness than you ever thought existed until you finally come across a large wooden gate blocking access to Delantium.
> You say "Rask, what are the people like here? Is it safe to request entry?"
"Well the gate is certainly an impressive sight" Rask says looking up at it with a smile.
> You say "But what of the inhabitants? Are they a warlike folk?"
Rask laughs out loud at this suggestion "Nah, I wouldn't want to tangle with those farmers let alone fight their daughters" he jokes in an attempt to lighten the mood.
> You call out for a guard to request entry to the village.
There is no response from within the village though it is true to say that you don't hear any sounds of life inside either.
> You say "Rask, did Darruk tell you what kind of mercenary work he was hired for here?"
Rask pauses for a moment before replying "Yes, he said that he was hired to work as a guard here for two months then go and work somewhere else for two months".
> You say "Hmm. Then why are there no guards at this gate? And why are there no other signs of life here?"
> You look for another entrance to Delantium.
Rask immediately replies "That's a good question. I think I'll just scout around a little while you wait here" and takes off into the village.
You don't like the sound of this at all.
> You follow Rask into the village.
As you follow Rask into the village, he rushes through the streets doing double time as if he's being chased by someone.
> You follow Rask through the streets.
Rask rushes through the streets and it takes all your concentration just to stay on his heels despite your natural speed and agility.
> You say "Rask! Slow down old friend!"
He pays you no mind and continues running at full pelt towards the houses.
It isn't long before something causes you both to stop suddenly, it's the corpses of several guards lying dead in the street.
> You check the identity of the guards.
They are all mercenaries, which means they are under Darruk's command. This is very bad news indeed.
"These are my men, but they are dead now!" Rask yells after he catching his breath.
> You say "Do you have any idea what happened to them? What's going on here?"
"I have a theory, but I need to make sure" Rask answers.
It's a good thing you decided to follow Rask, as he disappears into the crowd for a moment and returns with...
The village chief, a stoutly built middle aged man wearing only a bear fur robe and carrying a decorated staff. He looks disgruntled at our presence.
"What do you want?" He grunts.
"We want to know what's going on here" Rask says, pausing briefly for the chief to interrupt him.
> You listen to the chief's response.
"I don't know what you're talking about, go ask those two over there" he says, pointing to a couple of mercenaries who are visibly upset about something.
> You say "You are the chief of this village, yet you know nothing of what happened here?"
"I know what I just said! Now piss off!" The chief says more cheerily this time, clearly frustrated by our presence.
Rask takes this as permission to speak again and barks out his question again.
> You pull Rask away and move towards the two mercenaries to ask them for information.
As you walk away from the chief and Rask, one of the mercenaries suddenly grabs your shoulder and holds a dagger to your throat. It's only now that you realize how very dangerous this situation has become.
> You say "I am not your enemy, we are just looking for answers, friend."
"BullSHIT! We are NOT your friends, now turn around, and kick up your feet buddy" he says, dragging you up against a wall while still holding the knife at your throat.
Rask, having finished arguing with the reticent chief, turns back to see this mercenary with a knife to your throat. He moves quietly behind him and says quietly;
"I'm going to remove my boots slowly and while your attention will be on me, I will kick you in the side of the head and knock you unconscious, then we can talk."
The mercenary relaxes slightly when he sees Rask, but still keeps a wary eye on you "What is it you want?"
"Answers, friend. Who killed your fellow guards?"
He explains what happened here. There were five guards on patrol when they got caught out in a snowstorm and came across this village.
> You say "Who killed them? And where is Darruk?"
The guards lit a fire to keep warm and got drunk, then one of them killed three of the men then and there, stealing their supplies in the process.
> You say "Do you know Darruk?"
"Yeah, he's the one who killed my men, Stole their supplies and left them to die!"
"I want to speak to him, where is he?" You demand angrily.
> You glower at the mercenary, waiting for a response.
"Darruk? I dunno, he left two days ago. I think he's gone to Fort Defiance to sell the goods he stole from us" the mercenary explains.
> You say "Thank you. We will look for him there. "
You let go of your anger and try to calm down "Thank you for your cooperation friend."
You leave Delantium with Rask, and start the journey towards Fort Defiance. Along the way you see groups of refugees passing through Rask's checkpoint on their way to Fort Defiance or to Klyton. The city is overflowing with people desperate to get out before it's too late.
> You ask someone what everyone is fleeing from.
"The Dead World, it's covered the entire world in a sheet of ice and nobody can leave" explains an unfortunate refugee.
> You say "Rask, do you know anything about this?"
He tells you that he heard it from a traveling merchant who he bought a sweet from a couple days ago. The Dead World theory is that an entire world became completely covered in ice some thirty-seven years ago.
> You say "Why is it happening again now?"
Rask tells you that it was some sort of natural disaster, but there is still debate on that topic.
> You say "Well whatever it is, we need to find Darruk before he gets any further"
You travel on towards Fort Defiance which is roughly a weeks journey away. On the way you take occasional rest days in small villages that are willing to trade for food and equipment.
Finally after many days of travel you see Fort Defiance rear up ahead of you, the midday sun glinting off its battlements. You and Rask walk up to the gate. A soldier stands there holding a spear, looking very prepared to kill anyone who comes near the fortress. You approach him
> You say "Hail friend. May we have entry into the fort?"
He doesn't move, doesn't speak he just looks at you suspiciously. You feel like he might attack at any moment. Rask notices this too and becomes agitated "You best let us in before you provoke hostilities."
> You pull out a small bag of coin out from your pocket, and present this to the guard asking if this might buy entry.
He looks at the coin then at you then finally snaps out of his suspicious mode and opens the gate "Hurry in, danger awaits" he says and quickly turns around to close the gate behind you.
> You look around the interior of the fort.
You are standing in a courtyard surrounded by three storeys of walls made of stone.
> You say "Well Rask, you remember Darruk's appearance? We need to find him before he realises we are here, he might not wish to speak with me.."
Rask tells you he saw Darruk briefly when he first approached him for passage through the fort but then lost sight of him. Heading towards one of the many walls you see another soldier patrolling the battlements.
> You ask the soldier if he knows where Darruk might be in the fort.
He points over to a small window on the third floor of one of the walls. You tell Rask you will go see if you can find him there since it's too high to climb.
> You walk through the winding passageways and twisting staircases of the fort, eventually reaching the floor that the guard indicated. You look for the correct room.
You enter the room and find a single man sitting at a table writing something in a journal. You can't make out what it says though because it's in backwards gothic script.
> You say "Darruk? Is that you?"
The man looks up and stares at you with blank eyes before smiling and nodding slowly. He speaks softly, with a strange accent "Yes... I was expecting you"
> You say "Why did you kill my cousin? Why did kill King Filya?"
He continues to smile blankly as his head slowly bobs up and down "I don't know...
> You say "You don't know!! Have you lost your senses, or have you been struck dumb? Speak!"
His face now shows a mixture of confusion and fear "I'm sorry, I don't know what you're talking about"
Rask appears behind you and snarls "Answer the question man"
> You say "You are one of my oldest friends Darruk, we had many an adventure in the forests before you left to join Shadow. But if you do not explain why you assassinated the King I will kill you.."
Darruk now displays fear once again "I... I can't! They're coming for me!
> You say "Who is coming for you? Shadow?"
Darruk nods slowly "They know I'm here, they'll kill me..."
Rask says "BullSHIT" but doesn't move closer, nor does he move back.
> You say "Rask, remember the guard? He was terrified of something, out there. Did you see anything or anyone following us here?"
Rask's expression darkens "No... but they'll be back soon...
> You say "Who?"
Darruk now begins to cry "It's them! It's THEM! They came for me last time too! Please..." his voice turns to a whisper "... they've come for you too..."
> You grab Darruks arm and pull him upright. "I don't know what's going on but we are leaving, NOW". You, Darruk and Rask start back through the fort towards the exit.
As you pass the patrolling guard he hisses at you andDarruk, but says nothing to you, even when you both make eye contact. Once outside the fort you pause to assess the situation.
> You say "We are going to return to Larion. Can either of you two enlighten me as to the foe that pursues us? Is it something to do with the Kingdom of Malk?"
> You say "Whatever then, let us be on our way back."
You begin walking towards where your cart is parked, your companions follow suit but as you approach it two figures step out from around the corner.
> You draw your sword and ask of their identity.
They approach without fear or worry, You point your sword at them and demand that they answer your questions "Who are you?" "What do you want?
> You say "Rask, who are these two?"
Rask turns to face them but makes no hostile move, the two approaching appear non-descript, one is a little taller than the other but otherwise they are hard to tell apart.
> You say "Darruk! Are these the enemy you fear?"
Darruk hangs his head low "Yes...
> You say "Well then, let us fight them! Are you with me Rask, draw your weapon!"
Rask stays silent as you move into a defensive stance, you friend turns to face his opponent and assumes a ready stance.
> You wait until the two strangers are close enough and strike at the tallest one with your sword.
Your swing is wide but strong, your blade bites into his shoulder but fails to cut through bone and sinew as it meets a heavy shield bash full in the face sending you backwards.
> You quickly regain your footing and send a powerful thrust towards the man's stomach.
Your blade pierces his side but fails to cause major damage as the man counters with a crushing punch that rocks your head back. Your vision blurs then clears and you see your friend slumped in a heap unmoving.
Moving away from danger you survey the scene to see Rask unconscious on the ground, he does not appear to be wounded. Darruk is on the other side desperately stumbling backwards, trying to get away from the other stranger who is advancing. Neither of the two attacks appear to have any weapons other than their robust shields. You reach for your bow and nock an arrow, you shoot at the man advancing towards Darruk. His shield deflects most of the arrow's force but the head goes through his shield and into his arm causing him to drop his weapon. With his other hand he reaches down and feels the blood run down his arm.
> You nock another arrow and loose at your attacker.
Your arrow hits the man in his thigh and he staggers back with a curse escaping his lips, dropping his shield in the process.
> You drawing your sword once again you move in to swiftly dispatch the two wounded aggressors.
The man with an injured arm quickly tries to regain his footing and raises his shield to deflect your next attack, he is just able to raise his shield in time to stop your heavy blade from running through his chest.
> You deftly step past him, and aim a stab at his unprotected side.
Your blade bites into his ribs but fails to go through as he rolls with the blow and parries it, returning it with one of his own.
> You dodge his fist and slash again at his side.
The sword slides through his armor with only a light scrape but fails to break through as he catches your blade and parries it, returning the attack of his own with a wild swing that catches your shoulder instead.
> You fall to the ground, roll away from his strike before driving your sword up into his chest.
The blade bites into his armor but stops short of his heart as he drops his weapon in surprise, stepping back he raises a hand up as if to push the sword away but instead falls to his knees in pain, gripping his
> You move back towards the taller attacker, who is still trying to pull the arrow out of his thigh. You aim a powerful slash at his neck, severing his head.
The blade bites into flesh and gushes out blood as it exits through the other side of his neck.
> You turn back towards the other man who is near death, and ask him; "who are you, who sent you?"
He reaches up to grab your wrist as he expels blood and matter from the gaping hole in his throat.
> You say "Speak! If you can. Who sent you!?"
His grip tightens almost painfully as blood begins pouring from your hand and he lets go with his final breath "Telis"
> You check on Rask and Darruk.
You roll Rask over and check his wounds; there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with him except he's unconscious. You go over to check on Darruk who is still alive but barely conscious.
> You pull them both into the cart, tend to their injuries with healing herbs you have in your pack and let them rest. Jump onto the front of the cart and start the long journey back to Larion, this time taking the side roads. You don't know if there will be more attackers.
You keep travelling until nightfall when you decide to make a temporary camp in a safe location.
> You rest until morning.
You wake up refreshed after a restful sleep. You pack up and get moving again as soon as it is light enough to do so.
> You check on Rask and Darruk to see if they have recovered.
You check on Rask first, you move him slightly then shake him slightly to see if he wakes up, he grunts at you so you know he is still alive at least.
> You check on Darruk.
You check on Darruk who is still unconscious.
> You give Darruk another healing drink, and set off down the road again with your two companions.
You keep travelling down the old roads hoping you might encounter some travellers but day after day passes with no sign of life except for a few nomads wandering along the roads with their herds.
Rask and Darruk eventually recover, though they remain quiet about the attack. After a week and a half travelling the quiet roads you reach Larion, and head towards your home.
It isn't long before you start getting worried reports from town guards about an orc raid going on near by Viridiar.
"I don't care about Orcs right now, we need to get back to my home and think about our next move" Entering your home you invite Rask and Darruk in for a hearty stew. After the meal you decide to ask some questions; "Darruk, you need to tell me what happened at the castle, what happened with King Filya. What you know about the men that attacked us, and who or what Telis is" You state.
"It was a couple of years ago, we were having a meeting in the castle hall, we had moved most of our important meetings to the castle after the last attack" He explains.
> You say "What happened at the meeting?"
"As usual Filya got on our nerves with his boring speeches about how important he thought he was, I cut in and told him to stop wasting time talking and start planning for our defense against the orcs.
> You say "Then what?"
"He got angry and told us all to shut up or he'd have us all executed." Darruk laughs.
> You say "Is this why you assassinated him a few weeks ago?"
"No it took much longer for me to plan that than it did for you think it did, I had been thinking about it for years!
> You say "Who paid you to do it?"
"I'm not talking about that!" He glares at you.
You try asking some other questions but he refuses to talk any more about it, he gets angry and walks off leaving you and Rask confused.
> You say "Do you know who or what Telis is Rask?"
"Not a clue, nor do I care." He states. "Now if you don't mind I'm off to bed I have a headache." With this last remark he disappears into his room.
> You say "Well, shit."
You sit around wondering what you should do next but finally decide you'll need some information from people before you do anything else.
> You head towards the castle, taking care to hide your face under a cloak.
You make your way towards the Castle, wondering what could have happened to cause this uprising. As you get closer to it you see several guards patrolling and holding weapons in their hands.
> You move quietly down a side street away from the guards, to a place where you know you can climb up to a high window to gain access to the castle. You slip inside and carefully move towards the Chamberlain's room.
You move into the great hall and see that there are now two groups of orcs fighting each other instead of humans.
> You ignore them for now and continue onwards to the room where the chamberlain should reside. Finding the right door you step inside.
Inside you find a single guard sitting at a table reading a book. When he sees you he gets up and draws his weapon, others in the room block your exit.
> You say "I am Brok, where is the chamberlain to the kingdom?"
The guard says "The king is indisposed at the moment but I am here to act in his place."
At this point another guard runs into the room and says something inaudible to the guard.
> You say "Who are you?"
He ignores you and continues speaking to his companion. The guard repeats himself and the second guard responds but still with an annoyed tone. He is probably telling him that someone else has taken control of the gates.
> You say "Clearly I've arrived at an inopportune time. Could someone please direct me to the chamberlain's quarters?"
The guard starts shaking his head as if to say no, then suddenly he seems to think better of it and says "Oh sure, yes of course." He gets up from his chair and starts walking out of the room.
> You follow the guard.
You walk after him through a war torn hallway filled with bodies of fallen soldiers. Eventually you reach the top floor of the castle and enter a small bedroom. There is a man lying in bed reading a book.
"Thanks" you say to the guard. You turn to the man in the bad; "Hello chamberlain, how have you been?"
The man closes his book "I'm fine than you". He stares at your armor "But this is very interesting armor." You nod "It's orc proof.
> You say "do you know who or what Telis is? I believe it may be connected to the assassination of King Filya.."
He shakes his head "I'm afraid I do not, if I did I would certainly tell you. Let us discuss something else."
> You say "Err never mind, I think I'll just go home and rest. Good luck with the orcs."
He frowns a bit as if saddened by your answer but then smiles again "Very well, good luck with your endeavors." He tells you and then dismisses you with a wave of his hand.
> You head back out of the castle towards your home.
On your way back home you begin to think about who or what Telis is.
> You walk back inside your house.
You open up your house and begin to think about who or what Telis is.
> You go up to your bedroom and get into bed.
You lay in bed and begin to think about who or what Telis is.

Spoiler:You are Nick, a ranger living in the kingdom of Larion. You have a hunting bow and a quiver of arrows. You have been searching for a mystical beast for 3 months tracking it through the forest. As you behind a clump of trees you see something emerge.
A creature, human sized, covered in hair with a long tongue occasionally coming out and tasting the air.
It quickly begins walking towards you as if it is considering your presence there.
> You draw bow.
You draw your bow but as soon as you do you feel as if someone has taken a hand and placed it on your mouth to stifle any sound you make.
> You struggle free and take aim at the creature.
You draw your arrow back as far as you can, then exhale before releasing it at the creature.
> You draw another arrow and fire just to be sure.
The creature drops to the ground. You crawl over to it and see that the arrow went through one of its feet.
Having made your kill you stand and return to your campfire to cook your prey.
> You skin the creature.
You skin the creature and return to the village to trade your goods for coin. You head to the tavern and spend your coin on women and drinks.
> You give your head a wobble.
You spend the night drinking with your newfound friends until the owner of the tavern kicks you out at closing time.
A morning after the night before last.
> You check your belongings, have you lost your coin purse.
Your coin pouch is still in your pack but you fear that you have lost your map, you cannot afford to replace it so you are unsure what your next move should be.
> You return to the tavern.
You walk back to the tavern which is still closed and stumble inside.
You wander the tavern trying to remember if you saw a young woman enter here last night.
> You ask the landlord if you saw a young woman last night.
"Last night? Nah, haven't seen anyone new come in." The landlord replies.
You wander the tavern again but see no sign of them.
> You thank the landlord, toss him a coin and tell him to keep the change.
You head outside and wander the street trying to think of who else you can ask when you bump into a young woman walking out of the tavern.
"Hey!"
> You look around to see who is calling you.
As soon as you turn around, you hear the sounds of several bolts being pulled back, all pointing at you.
> You throw some coins in the air as a distraction, then dive behind cover.
You duck behind a barrel as 4 figures armed with crossbows step out from the alleyway holding the doors open for them. They spread out around you as more follow them out.
> You start laughing and ask them, 'do you think this is the real Quaid?'
"Have you gone completely barmy?" One of them shouts at you. "We just saved your life!"
> You ask him what he saved you from.
"From that thing!" He replies, pointing over your shoulder at something behind you. You swing around to see a creature shambling along eating scraps from a pile in front of it.
> You fire arrow into creature and say, 'I think you made your point'
The creature looks up at you and lets out a woeful howl. It collapses forward and vomits out what appears to be maggots wriggling around in its mouth and down its throat.
> You apologize for the poor quip, then examine the creature.
As you lean over it, you notice there are bite marks in various places on its body and begin bleeding from its mouth and nose. It appears dead, and one of the men puts his foot on it to be sure.
> You scalp the creature and ask the men where it came from.
"It was lying in an alleyway over there when we came out." One of them says pointing at a dumpster on the other side of the street.
> You ask what a dumpster is doing in a fantasy land.
"Magic I guess." The man replies "And don't even think about asking about what it was doing there."
> You give the man a greasy wink then head out of the village.
You walk through the forest for a few hours until you find yourself standing above an abandoned castle. The place seems quiet enough that you decide to head on in.
> You check for signs of life.
As soon as you walk in the front door, you find yourself staring down a spiraling staircase. There doesn't seem to be anyone else here so you decide to explore a bit.
> You follow the spiral staircase.
At the bottom of the stairs is a large room filled with even more torture devices than the ones in the tavern. A metal table sits in the middle of the room surrounded by several round tables with leather chairs.
> You say aloud that you wonder what tortured puns will occur in this delightful scenario.
You start noticing a pattern to the scenarios in this world, they are all based on Edgar Allen Poe's works.
> You wonder are you going to be stuck here forevermore?
You suddenly hear laughter coming from a small doorway in the wall to your right. You go over to it and see a heavy wooden door leading into a room beyond it.
> You call out who's there?
No reply comes back, just more laughter. Suddenly you feel as though someone has grabbed your collar and is pulling you into the room beyond the doorway.
> You use their strength against them and charge into the room.
The door slams shut behind you and you find yourself eye to eye with a rotting undead creature! Before you can react, it grabs your throat and smashes your head against the wall!
> You give your head a wobble and launch your elbow into the throat of the creature.
The creature lets go of your neck and staggers back. It appears as though it has a hole where its throat was!
> You reach into the hole and rip the creature's head off.
You pull the creature's head off and examine it only to find that it is a life size model of Wolfman Jack from horror movies! "Is this a joke?" You think to yourself.
> You say to yourself 'this isn't a time to lose your head' and shoot a greasy wink to the camera.
"Maybe this isn't the real world..." You think to yourself while examining your new prop.
Then suddenly, a small voice from behind you whispers, "I'm not done yet..."
> You say 'oh yeah' then backflip over the source of the voice, landing behind it with your bow and arrow drawn.
As soon as you turn around, your arrow flies right into a rotten faceless ghoul! It falls to the ground with a thud and begins crawling towards you!
> You curb stomp the monstrosity then say, 'all those years of Gears really payed off'
You stomp down on the head of the ghoul before it can crawl any further and it goes limp and stops moving, but you have other problems! The man who had grabbed you before steps out from behind the model wall!
> You again? You say, before drawing your bow.
He walks slowly toward you with his hands up saying, "I can explain..." but before he even gets close enough to speak you've shot an arrow into his chest!
> You one hundred and eighty! You shout, before cockily swaggering over to the mortally wounded body.
You raise your bow once more and release your second arrow directly into the creature's eye! This one kills it instantly!
> You retrieve the arrows.
You walk up to the corpses and start picking them both clean of arrows, when suddenly your attention is caught by another figure beyond them on the floor.
> You call out to the presence.
"So," He stands slowly. "A Ghoul, huh? Interesting choice." He pulls a flintlock pistol from his belt and fires at you!
> You dodge the bullet Matrix-style and smile.
The bullet whizzes past you and into the wall. It is clear that this man is no expert, but he is skilled enough to at least get close enough to try for the shot. He must be a stranger.
> You pull an arrow out and run towards him thrusting the arrow into his neck.
The man looks surprised by your reaction, but manages to let go of his flintlock in time for you to ram an arrow into his throat.
> You take his pistol and ammo.
The pistol may be heavy, but it's big and bulky enough that it's not difficult to handle. Still, you'd rather have a gun that doesn't need reloading.
> You reload the gun; bite, pour, spit and tap.
This gun reloads faster than any other gun you have ever seen or used. No more than five seconds elapse from when you pick it up to when it is ready to fire again!
> You spin the gun on your finger like a pro.
The gun is so light that you can easily spin it on your finger with one hand! This comes in handy when spinning back around quickly to avoid an attack.
> You shout out, 'who else want's some then?'
Suddenly a barrage of bullets hit where you once were!
They miss you by a hair.
> You quint to see where the bullets came from.
You turn and see a man hiding in the shadows holding a pistol.
> You fire the pistol out of his hand and ready another shot.
You aim your next shot at the man's head, but he disappears before you can get a clear shot! What speed does this man possess?
> You 'You better run!' you shout, before checking the area for loot.
There's nothing in this room save for these corpses, but there is an archway leading to another room beyond this one.
> You go through the archway.
Beyond this archway is a large lounge decorated with ghastly statues and relics from times long past. In one corner sits a tiny ancient-looking piano.
> You play Maple Leaf Rag on the piano, expertly.
You know the song well enough from the many inns you've stayed at over the years, so it plays out without a hitch. Music has always seemed to comfort you in times of stress. Who knows?
> You 'Any requests?' you ask into the darkness.
Just then, an eerie wail reverberates throughout the castle. It's coming from the trapdoor where the ghoul king was supposed to rise!
> You say, 'I don't know it but if you hum a few bars...'
As soon as you finish speaking, a skeletal figure appears in the trapdoor and begins to hum! That creature should not even be alive!
> You say, 'bones your man, whatever took you so long' and reach for your pistol.
Before you can react, a second figure rises from the trapdoor and tries to grab you! Quick as you are, you don't have enough time to draw your pistol before they do!
> You say 'take your best shot, you fear no man, alive or dead'
One of them manages to grab your wrist and throw you to the ground, the other puts a pair of ghostly lips on your mouth and attempts to suck out your soul!
> You shoot a greasy wink to the camera and say, 'I'm not normally this forward on a first date' then shove the putrid creature off you.
The creature falls to the ground with a horrible scream and a pained expression on its face before disappearing completely. The one who threw you manages to crawl away backwards into the darkness leaving you breathless on the ground.
> You wonder, will this ever end?
Shots ring out and a second later both of your assailants are lying on the ground too with bullets in their heads.
> You ask who shot those bullets.
When you open your eyes again you find yourself face to face with a tall man in worn leather armor covered in blood.
> You ask, what's your story then, you here for the conference too?
"Yeah," he grins, "Though I'm probably a bit too late to get involved in the fighting. What's going on?"
"The ghoul king's dead, along with two of his sons."
> You explain how you mashed them up proper.
He nods and smiles as he walks past you. "Let's have a look."
As you start to stand up, a sharp pain hits you in the side!
> You exclaim 'fuckin' 'ell, what's that?'
Looking down you find that a young girl about ten years old is standing behind you holding a dagger with a wicked edge. You push her hand away and pull the dagger out, she stares at you without blinking.
> You ask her who she is.
She just stares at you blankly with huge black eyes like two pits. She makes no sound at all, not even a breath. She just stares at you silently like a wild animal...
> You look kid you don't have time for this.
You grab her by the scruff of her neck and find that she's incredibly light considering how thin she is. "I asked who you are.
> You hold her upside down and shake her for valuables.
She stares at you like a deer caught in headlights, but says nothing.
"Who are you?" you demand again, but she says nothing and continues to say nothing.
> You ask her how to get out of the castle.
Again, she says nothing but points at the door and continues to say nothing. After mouthing 'down' she holds up three fingers. You nod and take a deep breath before throwing her to the ground.
> You go down three floors.
As soon as your feet hit the stairs your cell phone rings. You didn't even turn it off when you left so it could be any of a dozen people wanting to know where you are.
> You realise that this is a dream, because cell phones don't exist in fantasy land. You load your pistol and hold it to your temple, then only way to be sure.
You drop your pistol and pick up your phone, hoping it's not an emergency or life threatening matter.
> You pick up your pistol again, hold it to your temple and pull the trigger.
Your call is answered by silence...then an automated voice message begins to play.
> You sigh, trapped in here forever.
You exit out of the phone's memory and enter in another number from your contacts. It's already on so you hit send as soon as it connects.
"Hello?" a groggy voice answers.
> You say goodbye, then kill yourself.
You hang up and reload your pistol before hanging it from your belt and searching for the way back up. The staircase leads directly up and into the dining hall where all the fighting happened earlier.
> You kill yourself.
You begin your descent down the stairs when you hear the groggy voice once again.
"Hello?"
"Hey Greg, it's me."
"Jesus Christ...you've been given the key to my apartment?"
> You kill yourself.
Greg seems mildly annoyed but happy enough that you answered the phone instead of one of his many daughters. After exchanging pleasantries he asks why you're calling.
> You start stabbing yourself in the eye with as many arrows as you can.
"I'm looking for someone."
"Ain't nobody here except me."
> You scream into the blackness, fighting the algorithm.
"You're not real! I'm not real! I'm in a dream!"
"Hmmm, interesting." Greg responds, clearly distracted by the fact that he has no daughters. "So what's this about?"

You stop moving down the stairs as a spike of pain tears through your brain and rips apart the dreams within your brain. For a moment you feel like you've been hit by a truck, then darkness takes you.

As you walk down the road, you think to yourself that you've never seen a guard working alone before. You then come across an old, ragged man sleeping under a tree.

As you get close to town, you see a large group of men holding large clubs standing around a small car which has been set on fire. They look angry.
"It was running fine until it crashed!"
> You sneak past them like a coward.
When you're close enough you hear what they're saying clearly: "Burn baby burn!" one of them screams.

As you get close to the center of town, you hear cries of protest.
"They were only trying to escape!"
> You find out what's going on.
As you approach a crowd of men are surrounding an older man and a woman. They look angry.

"I didn't!" the woman cries. "There was a crash and we tried to escape!"
The crowd seems convinced by the man's story.
"Bunch of thugs anyway," one of them mutters to you.

One of the men turns to you.
"Have you come to join us?" he asks cheerfully. "We're having a little fun at these people's expense."
> You make excuse and leave.
"Sorry, got... somewhere I'm supposed to be," you say quickly and hurry off.
The man calls after you, "Come on, boys! Let's go find something more worthwhile to do."

You walk into the old pub and see a half dozen men sitting at a table playing cards. They all turn and look at you.

"You played pretty well," he says instead, pulling out a crumpled note and putting it on the piano top next to you, next to the small pile of gold coins you brought with you from the farm.
> You ask him where a legendary bard can find riches around here.
"Not far," he smiles, leading you out the door and onto the street outside. "There's a big store about three blocks away that has lots of stuff in it."

You walk around for a few minutes and finally come across a building that looks like it could be the store he's talking about. The sign reads "Elwin's Emporium of Varieties".

You open the door and find yourself in a small room filled with everything from cookware to weapons. Elwin appears behind the counter as you step inside.
> You say hello to Elwin and ask him about if he has anything a legendary bard could use.
"Hello, young man," Elwin grins, his eyes glancing at your leathers and sword before returning to your face. "Come this way."
He leads you into another room in the back of the store where he begins pulling items off the shelf and putting them into a large wooden box that seems to be just for this purpose. Finally, he pulls something out and puts it into your hands. It's a brightly colored glass bottle with a cork top.
"For your trouble," he says, smiling at you.
> You ask him what it is.
"A spritzer," Elwin says. "You like it?"
> You drink the whole bottle in one go.
Your mouth fills with fire and your throat closes shut.
> You belch in Elwin's face.
Elwin shakes his head and laughs. "It burns, doesn't it?" he says. "It's dangerous stuff, that one."
You smile and put the bottle back into the box. "That was fun," you say with a smile.
"I have other drinks too," Elwin says slyly. "You want to try some more?"

Elwin leads you into another room and begins pulling more bottles off the shelf and putting them into a second box. This process repeats until Elwin pulls out a small chain connected to a small brown bottle that contains... nothing at all. "This one is special," he says, smiling at you. "It makes whatever you smell delicious."

Elwin uncorks the bottle and pours a little bit of thick, black liquid onto the end of his nose. Then, he takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly.
> You ask do you like your scent?
"Oh yes," Elwin says, smiling at you, "but I'd give it up for a piece of human thigh."
> You tell him he's one sick fuck, pick up the most expensive thing within reach and run from the store.
You grab a brightly colored vase, sniffing it carefully. It smells exactly like marzipan - delicious. You put it into your bag of holding.

Apocalyptic survival story in which, prior to this point, I'd met a talking sword called Tych who proceeded to bury himself alive. Frank and Amanda had played no part in the story until this point:Spoiler:>You say "You scream "WHY GOD? WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME? GIVE ME A SIGN!"
You are interrupted by the appearance of Frank and Amanda outside your room. The door slams shut behind them and they both look at you in shock.

Amanda steps back and raises her rifle. She looks it over to see if it's working properly before checking the safety and putting it back down.

Frank holds out his identification and a note that he has from Amanda. The note explains that he can vouch for her since he knows that she went with him into the mountain.

"We're not here to argue, are we? We're here to get your help."

Amanda shows you the syringe that she has hidden behind her back. It looks very sharp and dangerous. She probably just stabbed someone with it.
> You grab the syringe from Amanda and stick it into Frank's eye.
Frank screams in agony as blood spurts out of his socket and onto his face and chest. Amanda begins hitting you in the head with the rifle butt repeatedly while screaming in anger.
> You say "I'm sorry! I panicked! It's been so long since I met anyone other than a talking blade."
"Never talk with your mouth open again!" Amanda says as she puts the rifle back onto her shoulder. She shoots you in the stomach with her weapon before continuing hitting you in the face with it.
> You pull pin out of granade and stuff it down Frank's trousers.
As Frank struggles to get the grenade out of his trousers while screaming in pain, you pull out the pin and fling it to one side. It explodes soon after, rocking the room even more than it already is.
> You say "How do you like them apples!"
Amanda looks at Frank who is currently on the floor and unable to move. She then looks at you with disgust before kicking you in the face with her boot while shouting in anger.
> You say "Hey Amanda, let's boogie baby."
You stand up and begin dancing with Amanda while she hits you with her rifle once again.
She stops suddenly and begins laughing until she cries from happiness. She throws her arms around you and kisses you hard on the lips.

Amanda grabs your hand and pulls you out of the room while calling Frank a freak and telling him to die.

You quickly run out of the shop, down the street, and out of the town entirely. You don't stop until you're far away, or exhausted whichever comes first.

You have lived in this military bunker since the bombs went off. You wake up and report for duty to your commanding officer ask him what your next mission will be. He says it is top secret, but that it will probably involve going out to collect food, as the base is running low on supplies. You have no choice but to obey.

The day begins as any other, you report to your commander and go through your usual drills, although they seem ever so slightly slower than usual.

You get into your vehicle, an armoured jeep, and head off to your first mission. On the way, you notice the road is empty.

Your journey is interrupted by the crack of gunfire. Two of your comrades lie dead in the road with bullets grazing their heads. Your mission: find out what is going on and report back to your commander.

You begin to walk towards the direction of the gunfire, when another burst of fire strikes nearby. The smell of gunpowder hangs heavily in the air.
> You take cover and observe.
The area is heavily damaged, craters from fallen buildings dot the landscape and there is a deep crater where what appears to be a military base once stood.
> You lie in wait.
You wait for several hours, periodically checking for movement in the surrounding area, but see nothing. You finally return to your jeep and begin to make your way back to the bunker.
> You enter bunker.
The bunker has changed little since you were last in it. The gas masks are still hanging from the wall, and there is still a faint smell of smoke in the air.
> You go to sleep.
You awake at dawn, as per normal procedure you check the bunker for any damage from the night before, but everything seems in order. Your commander enters, and you salute.
> You leave bunker and drive jeep.
Once again, the road is empty. Another burst of gunfire interrupt's your journey, and once again two of your comrades lie dead with bullets in their heads.
> You leave jeep and take cover.
You lie in wait once again, and once again you see nothing. You finally return to your jeep and make your way back to the bunker.
I've a feeling this isn't really going anywhere. -
You are Biltong, a punk living in the the futuristic city of Zail. You have a bag of drugs and a holoband. You wake up in a dark alley with bruises all over your body. You have no idea what happened. You stand up and see three Men appear. "Thought hiding in an alley was illegal." one says. "What the hell happened to you?" another asks.

I loved that line.
Very much enjoying everyone's stories, keep em coming. There's something about the nonsensical nature of the AI that just cracks me up.
In case anyone wasn't aware you can switch between different modes for input, Do/Say/Story, for actions/speech/and a mix of action and dialogue or narration. There's also an undo button if you mess up, or the AI totally misunderstands, and there's some other commands such as /remember which apparently makes the AI remember something important, I haven't bothered with that yet. -

Yeah you have to sort of lead it a bit, give it some longer sentences of exposition with the story input mode occasionally. I find that it's important to keep remind it of stuff too, like in my story up top I kept referring to my undead friend Rask, otherwise it can seem to lose track or get distracted, kind of like actual dreams.
It has got way better at keeping track of story arcs and stuff, based on streams I've seen of it a little while ago. It does tend to want to give you constant events and randoms to deal with at every new location though. Like in my story there was some apocalyptic ice covering the world thing going on and then some Orc takeover, both of which I wilfully ignored. -

The man and woman nod at your comment and the woman lowers her window.
"Please come in, but just for the night," she says.

The man and woman nod and the man gets up and leaves quickly. The woman turns to face you.
"He isn't the most attractive of men, but he is strong and healthy, so he can be useful,"

"Maybe," she says coyly, "It's not like I've ever kissed you before, we're getting to know each other."
You like her attitude, and she seems trustworthy.

The woman raises an eyebrow as she walks over to you, closing the window behind her. She leans in close, giving you a light peck on the lips before walking away again.

She smiles again and comes back over to you. She throws her arms around your neck and kisses you deeply on the lips, even more than before. She moves her body against yours and caresses your chest through your shirt.

She notices it immediately and gently slaps it.
"Sorry," she says, "but I don't have time for that right now."
You nod and agree. -
This is amazing. My first Cyberpunk story had me meet a dark elf with a sword she couldn't use, who asked me to help her kill her ex who had bullied her. The ex's war room was full of children in pyjamas who made me their King and built a golden statue of me.
