I learned Recalcitrant earlier. That's a weird looking word. -
Friend of mine during a not infrequent visit to court about a prang in his car stated when giving evidence that he found his car tended to skid quite easily.
The judge intervened and asked, "are you saying that that model of car has a propensity to skid?"
"Yes your Honour", was the reply.
"Are you engaged in the services of BMW as a mechanical engineer?"
"No, your Honour".
"Then you are hardly qualified to make such a statement". "Continue".
We used the word propensity at every opportunity for a good while after that.Holding the wrong end of the stick since 2009. -
