Why is the dialogue always so fucking stilted?

Uncanny valley hits again, as g said these kind of games suffer from it a load, i think it's because there's so much stuff to be created and administrated they dont have the time to obsess over getting the juddery feeling you get when the on-screen body language shifts unnaturally fixed. There's stuff that can be done to improve this kind of thing a hell of a lot i reckon but when that goes into games i'm not sure, its quite a big mechanical thing

I liked the voice work in the last one and what I've seen of the video above seems OK. The pauses while you make a choice from the dialogue tree slow it down a bit and there's a lot more declaration than conversation, but it's a unavoidable. The lead guy is a bit video game, but the rest is hopefully as professional as the last one.

But this isn't a space sim where you need a VR headset!   It's an old skool rpg where you press your face up against your monitor old style to squint at your +5 Silver Sword before the approaching swamp beast hits you for D20+1 damage!

Duff dialogue aside, you have to applaud the CD Projekt for really pushing the boat out on those monster character designs.  That coven was almost Silent Hill-esque in its monstrosity!

As novel as that featured quest was, I'm hoping there's enough to distract you in that open-world they're creating so you can wander off and do your own (monster-slaying) thing for a while too.

There were problems with the combat in the last one, definitely a game to whack on easy, as it told me to at the start. Their timing was terrible, right on the heels of Dark Souls, loads of people were convinced everything had to be played on the hardest setting possible.

Ahh, you dont need VR, its not designed for and wont support VR, ill have to fancy drivers to hack it in, but those environments with it on could look absolute amazing

It works quite badly, ive found thus far, at least Dark Souls was a no-go anyways. This seems like it could work out fine though, at least on devkit mk.2 and upwards
