Checking other sources, even at 70+ albums there list is pretty remiss. So many bases it isn't covering. I have literally just slapped everything I've listened to more than 3 or 4 times on there. I could refine it, but that'd take effort.
@Cocko - new Spoon album is good. Patchy as ever, I don't think I've ever truly loved an album, but they always have enough good songs to make me want to listen again, this one has The Rent That I Pay, Do You, and New York Kiss.
But some of you might like the new TV on the Radio album, Seeds. It's not the best thing they've ever done (Return to Cookie Mountain holds that honour) but even "pretty good" TVotR is a step above most others.
I might already be on there - had 2 looks but possible I overlooked it.
Bought a few 2014 releases, top three don't seem to be in the list.
La Roux - Trouble in Paradise
Foxes - Glorious
James Vincent McMorrow - Post Tropical
alt-J - This Is Yours
Metronomy - Love Letters
Couldn't pick a favourite, I like a bunch of songs from each with not one album elevating itself above another.
GT: WEBBIN5 - A life in formats: Sinclair ZX81>Amstrad CPC 6128>Amiga 500>Sega Megadrive>PC>PlayStation 2>Xbox>DS Lite>Xbox 360>Xbox One>Xbox One X>Xbox Series X>Oculus Quest 2
I don't think I know any of those songs in the first couple of postys.. wtf?
He could've just said they came from another planet but seems keen to convince people with his bullshit pseudoscience that he knows stuff. I wouldn't trust him with my lunch. - SG
I'd agree with a fair few on the list already, and would add:
Sun Kil Moon - Benji Not exactly a party album. Songs about the small details of life and death, and why they matter after all. Papernut Cambridge - There's No Underground: Collaborative Psych-pop album, originally released on 3 7inches and thus each song is pleasingly short and to the point. Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings - Give the People What They Want: Old school soul record- most of the coverage seems to have focussed on Jones's cancer, but it's a fine record in its own right. The Ministry of Wolves - Music from Republik Der Wolfe: The music for the stage show of Anne Sexton's poems of Grimm's Tales. Features Mick Harvey, Alexander Hacke and Danielle de Picciotto. Probably not for everybody... Liz Green - Haul Away! Not as good as her last album even, but it got played a lot in my household, so it makes the list!
