MGS4 was clearly supposed to be an ipecac and very few people twigged. -
I'm happy to admit I didn't clock on to intentional shitness when I originally played it. I just thought it was genuinely terrible and couldn't understand the high critical praise. I even thought the Edge [8] was way too generous. -
Well, intent and its validity aside, I don't think its sheer line-to-line stiltedness - my major bone of contention - was part of the plan so much as the exhaustive tying up of every minor canon element evarr was. Koj underestimated the sheer girth of the fanbase's guts imo and that's why he still finds himself making these fucking things?

It doesn't really make a huge amount of sense unless he's olympically careless with his money or is being threatened with some kind of sexual harassment blackmail scheme.

It was pretty smart putting snake visually at deaths door, if that was the intent. The encyclopedia was also fun.

even if he ballsed up 4's story on purpose its still a fun video game. so many other games fail at that part.
also if snake had actually pulled the trigger at the end i think that would have been better. -
Gotta finish 4. Did 1 through 3 last year and had a great time. -

I've not played either Portable Ops but the general consensus I thought is they're pretty missable. The start of PW suggests Kojima has taken them out of canon to boot.

I found the missions fun enough so I was more than happy to S Rank everything. And when I played it last year there was a pretty big online community on PS3. The only trophy I'm missing is the one where you need to get a stupid amount of camaraderie points with another player which needs to be done with a mate. -
You ain't an MGS fan if you didn't non-lethal S rank all the Monster Hunter missions while wearing pink camo.

I never needed to grind in Peace Walker to get past a boss. I was happy that it was there because it's kind of a self regulating difficulty and it would've given a younger me an excuse to keep playing it other than just trying to get my time down.
MGS4 story was balls and I think it was mainly down to tying up every loose end. But I've only seen those cut-scenes once in about 30 playthroughs so it barely registers."..the pseudo-Left new style.." -

Just had a very long sniper battle with The End. Simply sublime.
Until I found him and it turned into a bunny hill style chase with me carrying a light machine gun firing wildly.Not everything is The Best or Shit. Theres many levels between that, lets just enjoy stuff. -

It's awesome. Slightly easier I found in the HD remaster, found it a lot easier to spot the tiny movements in the grass or the spooked wildlife.Not everything is The Best or Shit. Theres many levels between that, lets just enjoy stuff.
