It's strange because yesterday I gave myself a spritz of L'eau D'Issey for the first time in about 6 months? Will always love the clean, crispness of the scent. Still one of the best summer fragrances.
Raymond Briggs is sad.
I struggle to think of any other artist who has elicited such emotion from myself.
Cried at the end of The Snowman
Laughed with Fungus the Bogeyman
Still quote Father Christmas at that time of year.
Taken through the ringer with When the Wind Blows
Destroyed by Ethel and Ernest
I had a Fungus the Bogeyman something-or-other when I was little ... notebook, pencil tin, I don't remember, but I do still remember the poem that was written on it:
Scab and matter custard, snot and bogey pie,
Dead dog's brisket, green cat's eye.
Spread it on bread,
Spread it on thick,
And wash it all down with a cup of cold sick.
