Go with party poker or poker stars if 888 is playing up, although the poker stars mobile (and presumably tablet) app isn't great. -
And remember, don't ever assume someone is bluffing. If you've got the highest pair on the flop they might have two pairs or three of a kind. If it's all one suit beware, or a possible straight. Party poker used to be good on a Sunday. They did (maybe still do) a million dollar tournament. You could play satellite tournaments to try and win a ticket. I think some of those were free.

I've read Harrington on holdem, which is really good, and there is the obvious classic Doyle Brunson's Super System (although you should probably get Super System 2, but I haven't read that). -

Don't limp = don't just call the blind bet pre flop. It shows that you don't have confidence in your hand and that you hope to improve it on the flop.
