I'm posting this here in April of 2023 so peeps have instructions about how to currently do the cheap Gamepass Ultimate upgrade now the £1 upgrade offer no longer exists.

It did not go particularly smoothly though, so I thought I'd just let you good folk know about a potential snag you might come across when doing this, and how to solve the problem.

Bought 12 month XBox Gold code no.1 from CDKeys and input the code on my SeX. Bingo! 12 months of Gold added to my profile.

Bought 12 month XBox Gold code no.2 from CDKeys and input the code on my SeX. COMPUTER SAYS NO! It won't accept the 2nd code, and I get the following message... Fuck!

I Google this message, and find some posts on Reddit that suggest this is not an uncommon problem. The Reddit posters say that when you get this message, you just need to wait for 24 hours while the system sorts itself out, then input the 2nd code. They also say that once the 2nd code has been accepted, you should instantly be able to redeem your third code. Sounds hopeful.

24 hours pass.

I input the 2nd 12 month XBox Gold code again. The system now accepts it. Yay!

I now buy 12 month XBox Gold code no.3 from CDKeys and input the code on my SeX. The system instantly accepts this one. Yay!

Now I buy 1 month of Utimate on the store on my SeX, and it instantly upgrades the 36 months of Gold to 36 months of Ultimate. Yay! Job done.

So there you go. This cheap upgrade loophole definitely still works, but there is a potential bug after you input your first 12 month Gold Sub code on your SeX, that if you get it, you will have to wait for 24 hours before it will let you input the other two Gold Sub codes. After 24 hours have passed, you should be back in business and be able to complete the process.
