Went for a boat ride, got hopelessly lost. Found a mad lava area with half the trees on fire but then got set upon by a billion zombies.
How come they're still there? Thought they vanished after a while? -

So, belongings stay in the world for - I think 5 minutes - while that chunk is loaded. So if you die 1000 blocks away and it takes 10 mins to get back to your stuff, no worries. The countdown only starts once that 16x16 chunk loads up again. -

I think the Nether will have to wait a little while though, as I still haven't got an enchanting setup going and I really want a Silk Touch pick before I cross over. I need that glowstone.
Think I've got 7 bookcases crafted, so almost halfway there. Plus the enchanting table, obvs. Happy to set it all up in the village so everyone can use it. And any spare leather, books, or paper people could spare for its construction would be much appreciated. -
I'm so far behind on Minecraft, no idea what a silk touch pick is.

Send messageThe Silk Touch enchantment lets you harvest certain items without destroying them, like the lovely glowstones in the Nether, plus things like coral and ice. There are loads more enchantments for your items that are just fantastic. Some let you mine faster or make your items last longer, others make your weapons and armour more powerful.
It's all good stuff. -

Send message@Dante Here's that One Player Sleep add-on. Super simple to use by the looks of it, after downloading click on it to launch Minecraft then load up the world. Open settings and it'll be under "behaviour packs".
Dunno if you'll have to download the world again. -

So, this is considered a cheat, which means it will disable achievements permenantly for this world. Do people want achievements, or this add on? -

Send messageOkay, finished the Nether portal across the river from the village and built a level 30 enchanting table underneath it (go round back, look for the lanterns). There's lapis in the chest at the base of the table. Have fun!

Means only one person needs to be in a bed to skip night, rather then everyone. But disables achievements.
Edit - in fairness, it's only an issue if someone is afk. If you aren't with a bed, just logging off will do the trick. -

Send messageSome fire protection enchantments would be cool but not essential. Oh, and don't touch the glowstones if you don't have a pick enchanted with Silk Touch or you'll just destroy 'em. -
