Today (Feb 22nd) is the last day to apply for an EHIC card

Guys, today is the last day to apply for an EHIC card which would entitle you to free state medical care in EU countries for 5 years, post-Brexit.
If you already have one, there is no harm renewing it or applying for a new one.
This means you won't have to pay insurance on EU holidays for 5 years.
Make it a priority today and let your friends and family know.

Just so everyone is clear: the GHIC card is replacing the EHIC card and provides much the same cover in the EU as the old card did. Your ehic continues to be valid until it expires. Then you can apply for the ghic to replace it. Or now if you like.
GHIC doesn’t cover you in eea countries (Norway Lichtenstein Switzerland iceland).
This is one part of the brexit negotiation which went ok, cos it’s reciprocal (eu citizens will get free emergency healthcare here too) -

I at least have found out about the GHIC as id assumed the EHIC was dead and was gonna have to pay for fuller travel insurance -
What about if I have EU health insurance already through my work? Do I need one of these?Not everything is The Best or Shit. Theres many levels between that, lets just enjoy stuff.

I’m pretty sure that at least some travel insurance these days won’t cover things that are covered by the ABCDEFGHIC on the assumption that those are covered anyway.
