So yeah, an embarrassing number of entrants from http://thebearandbadger.co.uk/discussion/2808/its-2022-update-your-all-time-top-10/p1 are ones I've not actually played. Repeat entrants are making me feel I really ought, even if they're not exactly new releases...

What are the holes in your taking history, that others rate in that thread?

I haven't played loads of big hitters (Dark Souls, Persona, Borderlands, Death Stranding, Slay the Spire) but I play too much stuff I like to bother getting embarrassed about not playing the games I purposefully avoid. #rollsafe

Only 70% of forumites have played A Link to the Past, leaving 30% who haven't. Although that's now changed because I've played it.

Looking at some games from people's lists...

Dark Soldier nominated Super Metroid, which only 56% of forumites have played, one of the least played nominees. He also nominated Slay the Spire, which fares little better at 59%, although as a recent game more people may have played that one since the survey.

Not a direct one but Raziel nominated Civiliation III and only 41% have played Civ II, suggesting not many have played a Civ game at all (actually, I've just seen Muzzy's post where he directly nominates Civ II). He also nominated Persona 4, which only 52% of people have played.

Reg nominated Nier: Automata, which is languishing near the bottom of most played list with only 37% having played it.

Elf nominated Journey, which only 59% of forumites have played.

b0r1s nominated Death Stranding, which did quite badly with only 44% of people having played it at the time, although that will have almost certainly risen since, especially with the launch of the new PS5 version.

Frosty nominated Half Life, which only 63% of forumites have played.

nick_md nominated Ouendan, which few have played - only 37% have played any of the Ouendan or Elite Beat Agents games. He also nominated Red Dead Redemption 2, which only 44% of forumites had played at the time, although that has probably gone up.

OK, that's enough I'm bored of looking at spreadsheets now.

I wouldn't get into a tizz about Mushihimesama Futari . I consider it the most entertaining example of its genre but not many here will have played it. @hylian_elf will have I'm guessing and a few others. It's isn't overly easy to get hold of either.

There’s plenty on those lists I haven’t played, and that’s okay. There’s probably only The Last of Us Part 2 that I want to play, and when I get a PS5 I’ll get to play it.

First 2 are great, IMO, and don't show any specific aging. I only gave both a go last year, and they were both awesome.

Death Stranding really is something. Too out there in many respects to say you'll defo love it, but if you can nab it cheap or it appears in a humble or something, defo worth trying. Even if you don't stick with, the opening sections and just seeing the vibe is worth a go, IMO.

I've started Okami 3 times, looks lovely, but yeah, it has some bloat.
I'd think Divinity is one you could just skip and go to the second (or third?) what are they up to?
Halo 3. I have no concept of how this holds up, but I think well. And a crack through on normal and even heroic, wouldn't take too long.

Yeah, but I've watched Rouj.

If I stroke my chin while staring into the middle distance and miscalculate some numbers, I can say I've played it.

Worth mentioning that the PC version of the Director's Cut will be coming this Spring apparently, so I'll be looking forward to playing it again then.

One that jumps out is Slay the Spire, but when I look at images of the game I have no urge to play it.

Also, Persona 5. I am intrigued but it looks like the kind of text heavy game I would tire of quickly.
