Let's do this. We have a few months before the Kutar games sadly depart this earth so it is time to build the list of must owns for both systems.

I'll try to collate picks for both consoles here, and make a good list. I'll also look at VC games for both. Might be best to avoid basic "yo get Mario 3 / LttP" stuff so we can have a really interesting list of content.

I'd say include it if it is fucking expensive to get physical otherwise keep all digital

I'll have a proper think about this later. Dragon Quest VII and VIII are still readily available on cart in the UK but cart manufacture has now ended for the Nintendo 3DS and this is probably the last opportunity to buy them for RRP so yeah, hurry up on those.

Not flawless but if you liked Metroid Dread and haven’t played Samus Returns…that’s probably worth a peek.

On Wii U I’d say it’s worth checking for some GBA stuff that’s on there. I think Metroid Fusion and zero mission is on there? The castlevanias were but they’re on switch now at least.

On 3DS I really liked pushmo and box boy, and I remember liking attack of the Friday monsters.

Also, the 3DS is one of the best JRPG systems out there. Would need to have a proper look to jog my memory but can recommend Radiant Historia, Rune Factory, Etrian Odyssey, SMTIV, the Bravely games (even though they weren’t my faves) and Alliance Alive. There’s more but, with the DQ games…that’s already a lot of RPG.

Box boy games are a great shout. Also the 2D gba metroids work on 3DS…with some software shenanigans.

The GBA game to get is the super Mario bros 3. It is available on cart but you won’t have access to the e-reader levels that are available and unlocked on the wii u vax version.

Power Drift, one of the rarely released Sega arcade racers.

Its appeared on Saturn and DC compilations but I'm not even sure they released outside of JPN.

This is a very good conversion handled by none other than M2.

Azure Striker Gunvolt and it's sequel were great if you like slightly Megamanish sidescrollers. There's a double pack on Switch but it's pricey, I grabbed them for £5 each on 3DS so I'm guessing they're £9.99 full price. Good games.

Oh I Say. Yep - JP only.

It was a bonkers cabinet in the arcade.

It's one of the few JP games for Saturn I'd still like to get hold of. It's part of the Yu Suzuki Gameworks compilation on Dreamcast but that's even more expensive than the Saturn game which is £80-£130+ on eBay.
