Just given up on...
  • I gave up on Persona 4 about a year ago, I couldn't even beat the first 'real' boss (I might have even had it on an easy setting). That being said I desperately want to play it - Should I give it another bash and just use a FAQ or something?
  • First real boss being the first Persona? Just have levelled up enough I guess. You ought to be able to visit a few rooms and then get out with a Goro-M or whatever it's called, but there's a time limit on rescuing the girl. In easy it's definitely doable without too much/any grinding though.

I think that was the one yes. I'll set up the PS2 and give it another go at some point.
  • Gave up on Enslaved, wanted to like it...just didn't find it that fun to play. Didn't help that I played it stright after finishing Bayonetta for the 2nd time round - Enslaved's combat just feels stilted and dull when compared.
I never got near the end of Enslaved either. The gameplay was too scripted for me.

I gave up on that after about 3 minutes - I HATE games where you have to escort someone.

    Even Ico? Surely not.
That was awkward and unsettling, never post anything like it again.

Just read a guide. Something on gamefaqs should suffice.

I think Persona 4 is stunning. However, while the combat engine itself is fun enough (as in, not so terrible as to stop you enjoying the rest of the game), it's still not what I played the game for.

So, I would recommend doing what I did - don't get a full spoilering walkthrough. Get an enemy guide from gamefaqs (with lists of enemies and their elemental weaknesses) and a boss guide. The first real boss (I'm assuming you mean the bird in a cage and her "prince"?) is actually one of the hardest ones (considering it's location in the game ). Don't let that ruin it for you.

New game + gives you access to all your personas thus far, so it's easier 2nd time round. Might seem way off for you, but I'm on my 4th playthrough now, it's one of my favourite games ever.

Also, pro tip. The hermit arcana will start automatically. When it does (won't spoil it for you by giving more details, you'll know) spend some spare time with that. If you get it high enough it'll save you so much time (as in, game days) and make dungeons much easier.

If you ever need help with that, lemme know, I'd be more than happy to help out.

  • Hadn't actually occurred to me until last night that its not that hard to avoid encounters, although obviously you need a few to level up. But you could get to the boss level quite easily, come out and go straight back there the next day, rested.
  • Most of the games I have, apparently.

Far Cry 3 is done. Dishonoured and hitman aren't doing it for me, everything else I have I've played to death. Been dabbling in XBLA, but it may be time to get something new, and/or see whats up on ps3.
I'm still great and you still love it.

F1 All Stars. Its proper shit, with unbalanced weapons to stupid level designs. I got it free on Plus but I still feel ripped off. Online is fun for a few races then its back to shit. I got halfway through the championships before thinking it aint worth it.

  • I am this close ----> || to giving up on Crysis 2. Just seems so average after having played the original for the third or fourth time, and spending a bit of time on Far Cry 3. Sure, it's not open like those two, but it's nowhere near as satisfying as other closed area shooters like.... Erm..... Halo.

I'll stick with it I guess and finish it seeing as I bought it full price ages ago and only now playing it. That'll learn me for not waiting/renting.

  • I gave up on it somewhere around the middle. Just couldn't get on with it at all.

    Yeah no
  • I'm trying to like it. Just don't seem to be gelling with it at the moment. Has some nice bits; but mostly I'm not feeling it. :(

The story is atrocious. But who cares about the story, eh? I'm not managing to make any sense of it yet. Wonder what happened to Nomad and Psycho. I'm sure I'll find out by the end, right?

I didn't bother with the story for one second. It looked pretty and it entertained, something Halo is yet to do (wahey!)

  • I gave up on a BIT of Mark of the Ninja, specifically in the Castle where it says 'kill all 7 guards in the catacombs with stealth kills' and I can do all but the last one and OH GOD WHY, so I stealth quit instead.

NG or NG+? Thinking some of the challenges are easier done with all abilities unlocked.

Do the kills when you terrorise an enemy and they kill others count as stealth? Because man can they clear a room if you time it right.

The no field of vision and no sound circle thing in NG+ is gonna make some of the later levels tough.

I'm still great and you still love it.
  • NG, I'm being really impatient with it. I'll pass over it next time.
  • Resi 6. Boring, hold-your-hand, cliched, see-it-all-before, lengthy bollocks.

I don't think I like gaming anymore. Hopefully Dishonoured will save the day.
  • Dishonoured will definitely save the day.

    Or play Revengeance.
