Terry Cavanagh (Cambridge indie developer, friend of my brother, and creator of VVVVVV) has created a devious, addictive action game that's now available on iOS. I bought it for 69p in the launch sale. It got an Edge 9/10, and has sold 10,000 copies in 3 days, way surpassing Terry's expectations. Deservedly so, because it is fantastic.
It's a small, simple game and I'll keep the OP that way. You are a tiny triangle, and with twitch left and right movements, you guide it through tiny emerging gaps in the encroaching hexagon walls. If one hits you, you instantly restart. Every ten seconds the formation changes into more and more mind-bending configurations.
I died within 3 seconds, and so will you if you buy this. After about half an hour I got that up to 16 seconds. After three days, in which I find myself reaching for the iphone at every available opportunity, I've got to 30.50 seconds. The progression is intoxicating, it is the purest of games.
Me. I'm a sucker for these kinda games. I was one of the few who loved (still do) Gauge game. Your bro is mates with Cavanagh, no? Or am I thinking of someone else?
Anyway, haven't played it that much yet, only managed 18 seconds. Very addictive.
That looks horribly addictive - it also looks like the sort of thing that would burn itself into your iris - wouldn't fancy driving after a session of that!!
Downloaded this, gave it a go, screamed "WHERE'S THE FUCKING STORY?!", threw my iPod Touch at the wall in a frenzied rage, went back to Tales of Graces f, carried on saving the world with Asbel (OR 'ASUBERU' AS THE REAL FANS CALL HIM!!!1111).
