It's slowly dawning on me how much stuff i need to get ready for Revival Expo this week so I think realistically i'm not going to be able to make it, sorry, it's a bad few weeks for me at the moment in terms of free time

I hope that they announce Gt6 for the PS4 tommorrow. I'm excited to see what PD can achieve without the constraints of (what's now) creaky old hardware.

If it's next-gen, then they'll have no excuses. After 15years, GT's zombie AI must die!

I didn't even notice the missing leaderboards until I did some quick laps last month. I went to see how my times fared... Then I went online to see what times people were achieving on the Top Gear Test Track with the X2010, and - predictably - was greeted by a bunch of liars. A flat 35's my best. A flat 42 around R5.

But more than a few folks were saying that 29s are easy on the TGTT, you 'just turn up the downforce'. I ran everything stock with auto gears, but another 5+ seconds seems hard to believe.

Sounds:

I can easily improve GT5's engine sounds when editing videos. Hoovers be hopeless.

The sense of speed in the original game's never been matched:

A 400-brake car felt fast, whereas a 700-brake Lexus feels slow in GT5. I still love the original's oversteer tightrope.

A sim doesn't need visual authenticity as much as the emotional attachment of racing, however that's achieved. WipEout HD's snap-judgement inputs tally, even though superspeed racing isn't a real thing.

Oh, and word is/was that GT6 will be for the PS3, and out for Christmas.

I do hope those rumours turn out to be false Escape. Sure they could make some improvements with a Ps3 Gt6, but they'd obviously be nowhere near as dramatic and progressive as a PS4 GT.

They'd be stupid to release it for PS3 with the PS4 and the likes of PGR5 and Drive Club just around the corner, surely everybody at Sony wants a killer title at launch and GT6 would surely be up there as one of them?

Dunno what was happening with our mics, Davie. My chat icon was flashing okay in the lobby. I took my headset off in the end 'cause it was digging in. Then I picked a kart and waited for a race, dozed off for a bit, and when I put my headset back on people were talking about Tobal No. 1. I've no idea why I brought Tunnel B1 up. Nowt in common but a similar name.

I had my NASCAR gears set to 199, so that was good. Was it Jim or Bos with the wheel? Sounded like a DFP whirring away. I was on a pad, because I thought it'd be unfair to use my Fanatec.

Needs 6-8 players, huh. I'd definitely be down for some WipEout. Or more of this if we could get another couple of players in.

When we ran our Top Gear Suzuki Cappuccino challenge I didn't see how my time within the forum was beaten by somebody else so I spent absolutely hours doing the track over and over again, chasing ghosts and trying to pinch a tenth here and there. At the end I managed to take around 2-3 secs off my time, 2-3 secs, not tenths!!!

Firstly you need to run manual gears, this is where I gained my time. Manual gears managed to get me back into the lead but to gain the massive chunk of time I actually looked at the power delivery and torque curves (remember we were running completely stock so any time had to come from yourself not from a better tyre etc) and I saw where the power started dropping off. By changing gear earlier and holding it in some bends I had done the impossible, gained around 3 secs when originally I was struggling to gain 1/10ths.

Would have been up for this as well, if I didn't have to work last night (yay, so much fun working in a store next to the Arena when a big match is going on. Do the UK supporters drink anything else than Jack Daniels, the boulevard was covered in those bottles.). Also not sure if I'd have the cars required, I'm usually b-spec, while Bas covers a-spec.

IIRC that was an epic few days towards the end chasing the times on that one

Sorry that i couldn't make it last night, had to dig out birth certificates and modify Atari 2600 joysticks and didn't get a chance to jump on

Was a good night last night, more players would of been nice but finding an ideal time for everyone is a nightmare these days. Either way it was good to catch up with Future and Davie. Next up for sure is a Wipeout night. At least then people can join in with their Vitas

Apologies for a no show but kids and stuff. Wipeout is certainly more doable with a Vita, just have to make sure I have you all on my list.

the latest seasonal is good fun, nissan gt-r on nurburgring gp, get gold to win the car.
got my time at 9.27 so far and were running 7 seconds faster on a few laps after but a touch of the weels on the grass turns your time red and dosent count!
frustrating as its only a slight touch and by then my tires are worn.
still fun though and one of the few games you can play completly hud-less.
