Ok, just to quickly start off answering Nick's question from the TV thread on my thoughts about Carole and Jeff.

Jeff is a straight, cold, calculated con man.
His game appears to be entering a partnership and having the partner front as much as possible, have them fo all the work including the illegal stuff , then leach the profits/assets.

He did this with Joe but didnt account for Joe's level of crazy. He then started doing it with the other guy before he got wise. There are rumours around he has marked Shaq and was looking to open a zoo with him.

As to why he has evaded jail. I think he is smart about it. Always has his partner put their name on things and keep his own nose clean. I also wouldnt be suprised if he was a high level informant. Jeff will look after Jeff.

That bitch Carole Baskin. I dont think she killed her husband and fed him to the tigers, it is just a bit fanciful. Also his blood would everywhere. I do think it is highly likely she paid someone to ensure he went missing. He was off to do the "deal of a lifetime" in South America. Sounds a perfect recipe to lure him away and have him offed.
In terms of her business she isnt a great deal different to the others, she has just found a model that works in modern society.

But i wasn’t sure if it was a suicidal thing or whether it was an accident as it was mentioned that he liked pulling guns on people and I wondered whether it was a prank gone wrong.

Yeah it wasn't clear whether it was a suicide or a prank gone wrong, but the build up about how he was a prisoner in the zoo implied to me at least that it was suicide. I don't know.

I think Carole for sure had her husband killed, one way or another. But, I'm aware that we're watching a documentary and probably it's been edited to favour the producer's pov. Whatever the case, screwing the kids out of the will is total cuntery however you look at it.

Re Jeff he clearly set joe up and it seemed like a huge miscarriage of justice - one can only assume there was some abuse of campaign funds and joe didn’t get a great defense lawyer

The whole thing was a rollercoaster.

I do wish the producers had focused a bit more on the treatment of the animals but I can see why they got distracted by the lunacy around them.

Did any of you watch the Louis Theroux doc that's also on Netflix?
