Yes I know we already have Minecraft threads, but they were specific to format, and the PC one is a bit unweildy now at 75 pages, and might put people off. Also new thread might get more interest.

I'm definitely up for some Minecraft, but not tonight, unfortunately. In the middle of a co-op DOS2 playthrough atm (so prob'ly not available for the next year or sumthin'...)

Does Bedrock have cross-platform voice chat, à la Fortnite?

Loaded up a sole world, yeah, a lot of changes since I last played. Got attacked by a twat with a crossbox, so apprantly daytime is no longer safe.

Yeah, Pillagers have been in for a while. Watch that bubbly status effect if you killed the patrol, you'll trigger a raid when you venture into a town while it's active. Drink milk to cure it.

I'll be starting a realm, I've not figured out how cross platform friends or invites work.

Cool. Realms are what, 11 player persistent worlds? I'm assuming that's a max of 11 concurrent players, but more can have the access details?

I'd be up for some MP, I'm on PC and have the free Win 10 version which I think is probably the same as consoles. Assuming it works I'm in.

Also I recommend Discord for chat and stuff, if people are bothered I'll make an MC channel on there.

Yeah, basically any version but Java is crossplay.

Afaik its 10 concurrent players, dont think there is a limit on who can be whitelisted though.

Some kind of 'asymmetric' MP is a good idea right now, where people can drop in and out at will, but have a sense of progress as people change the world.

I'm up for some. Also got a realm for my lad and nephews but they've ditched it and are playing Fortnite more. Still paying for it as there's no way I'm losing my castle.

I'm in anyway, this is a great idea, Dante. Love me some Minecraft, and it'll be cool to finally speak to some of the other forumites besides the Destiny and Overwatch crews.

It'd be cool to try and get a few people together for the launch of the server, Hermitcraft style, but I understand that might be awkward for some with family time etc.

And is there any chance someone could send me a Discord invite for my friend, ScantAki, who'll be joining us. He's been playing with peeps on here since the Overwatch days, but I think I'll finally get him to say hi in the forum if this all takes off.

I've added a minecraft channel to the discord, feel free to use it for coordination chat, and you should be able to use it for voice too which is probably recommended if you're on a console.

Ok, I think that everything is done through Microsoft account, regardless of platform. It seems I can share a link so don't need you on friends list.

Seems like it's You + 10 players, so is indeed 11.

Yeah it all looks simple enough to join.

Play > Friends > Join Realm > enter invite code.

And cheers for setting up the Discord, Gurt. Would be cool to be in voice chat when we load in.

For those on PC I recommed the John Smith texture pack, which was always a favourite of mine back in the day and is thankfully still being updated. Just download the 1.14.60 version and Minecraft should fire up if you have it installed, and it will install the pack for you to activate in the settings. A pleasing sort of rustic retro look about it, very easy on the eye, and slightly higher res at 32x32 which is a bit nicer to look at without being incongruous.

Also for PC Bedrock users; if you're not already running it, The ESBE 2G shader is as good as it gets for the Windows 10 edition. It's not a patch on the wonders you can get for Java, but it's much more vibrant than vanilla. Super simple to install as well.
