Starfield is a much awaited salve to heal the wounds afflicted onto the Bethesda fan base by the shoddy release of Fallout76. Promises of a brand new animation system have eased concerns caused by their insistence on persisting with their Gamebyro engine. But Todd only likes 'small announcement windows' when promoting games, so a 2022 release date (especially if it's cross gen) would be a big surprise.

Bethesda need to deliver this year with Starfield.

There’s no way on earth Starfield is cross gen.

I really hope both those statements are true.

Still Alpha footage?! Clear they are going for a more 'gritty' space aesthetic rather than luminous flying saucers. But, I dunno, anyone else a tad underwhelmed by this? 2022 release can fuck off too.

There’s a few interviews about the game floating around the web which offer a few (but not many) more details. The Metro have a bit of a roundup here, despite somehow managing to miss how clearly and repeatedly Microsoft said EXCLUSIVE last night.
